I've heard that it's considered the best Arrow suspended coaster still standing, I know that it is a great suspended coaster, but I wouldn't know about the other ones

I always found this Arrow suspended coaster to be unique in that its first drop seems quite a bit more intense than the usual fair in this category. I do, however, wish they would bring back the original "The Bat". That thing seemed to really pack a punch with it's two lift hills worth of helices and extreme swinging curve action. But yeah, as someone already commented below, the original Bat was a moronic design in that the track did not bank at all. I stumbled across an old 1981 video on KZbin, and you can see how the train cars seem to clash with the wheel wells (or whatever you call the overhead components of the trains) during some of the helices. Lol.

Yeah the original was a mistake but at least it laid the foundation for the good suspended coasters we have today.

I live right next to Kings island and we still call it top gun lol we all grew up calling it that. with banshee it is now much easier to see this ride now when your riding banshee but back when son of beat was still alive(R.I.P.) you could not see the bat at all!! The way it was set up the only way to know is if you have previous knowledge of it or if you have a park map and even then its quite the adventure. people we would be talking to who were visiting bout to leave and we would mention top gun and they always said wait there's another coaster here??

All of Arrow's suspended coasters are underrated. Big Bad Wolf was the best but the Bat is a solid ride.

I like it, but it also makes me rather sick every time I ride it due to the high positive G-forces. Can't say I'm the biggest fan or positive G's. Until you have ridden these arrow suspended coasters it's almost hard to fathom the G-forces they exert - it's definitely the most + G force heavy coaster in the park.

Great PoV of this roller coaster, both this and the night time. KI's website has no PoV at all for this coaster, it's hard to find a good one too with other channels. Thank you so much, I've never been to KI. However, being the fact that you've been to both KI and Cedar Point. Can you comment on how this one was in comparison to "Iron Dragon?" Both are made by the same company, however, the lift hill on this one is so darn long, I know Cedar Point went through an issue with theirs on "Iron Dragon" it had to be replaced. Do you think this coaster is more of a thrill (overall) from beginning to end, mostly day since it's nearly impossible now to get a night ride on Cedar Fair's Flagship park (Cedar Point). However, if you were able to ride "Iron Dragon" at night, too, how would you rate both in comparison? If you only wish to speak about this one, it''s your channel or send a message if you want to. This one looks like your always in the air, sans the lift hill, even though it goes pretty slow with the comment, it can really kinda pack a nice punch. Thanks for both the night PoV and day one on "The Bat" not many actually have them.. Thumbs Up for great vids on both :)

thank you very much. the bat is way better than iron dragon. it's faster and more intense and it gets you swinging a lot more. iron dragon has two lift hills which is kind of a drag because you slow down obviously.

Thank you for replying so quickly on this one. I wish the track was longer on "The Bat", lift hill much faster if possible, chain lift hills on both are slow in comparison to other ones I've been on, I won't go into those since this about this coaster. But holy cow, nearly 2 minutes or over just for that lift hill.. why so slow on either one? I would assume it might have to do with being the angle it's at for going up.. idk.

When I went a also had no idea it was there Intill after riding Banshee, and the operator said “be sure to Check out the beast and The Bat”, it was also night, so we got a map, and walked to it, still having no idea what it was, so when I saw it was a suspended arrow coaster, and only having been on Iron Dragon at Cedar Point, I did not expect anything from it, but after riding it, and night, without seeing any POV of it, it sure did surprise me.

Hey, Coaster Fanatics! I Remember The Old Bat. It Opened In 1981 And Had 2 Lift Hills. It Was Also An Arrow Suspended Coaster. In 1983, The Bat Closed Because Of Mechanical Problems. Vortex Operated In Its Place. Did You Remember That?

He says at the beginning"...Pivothead POV" Pivotheads are glasses with a video camera built in. So usually all you need is an athletic strap and your good to go on most coasters!
