One of the most under rated bands from the late 70s...red, clear, and black vinyl....still got them all, and the illusive comic book too !!!

They'd have gone a lot further if the Toronto feminist community hadn't done an early version of cancel culture on them. They freaked out at their name. That's why they ended up changing it to The Wives. I had the red version of the album, but I don't remember the comic book. If it came with all of the albums, then I must have had it, though.

they remind me of the Dead Boys but the Canadian version.Death Sentence are one of the better Canadian Punk bands I don't know much about the Canadian Punk Scene though I know that Vancouver had there scene from the 70's - 90's, while not sure about Edmonton and all that.

Look online for the books Tomorrow is too Late and Dirty, Drunk, and Punk. Both cover the 80s hardcore scene here in a lot of "in our own words" Also available on youtube is the movie "Not Dead Yet", documenting 1983-84. Also anything by Chris Walter. We had it pretty good (and still do) being halfway between Detroit and Montreal, and not much of a diversion from either for anyone going to or from NYC to those places. The Gen X CDN X HC community is about as interconnected as an Ozark family tree. I'm from Toronto, but have old connections to just about every other city West of MTL... a sofa in every city LOL

Toronto had a punk scene as far back as late 76. Edmonton had a few great bands in the late 70s/early 80s. Rock and Roll Bitches and Modern Minds were great. "Go" is a great tune by Modern Minds. "Wild West" by R'n'R Bitches is a good one too. Best Canadian punk imo is: Teenage Head - S/T (1979) Viletones - Taste of Honey (1977 recordings) Ugly - Disorder (1977 recordings)
