Kudos to you for knowing the truth. It's actually very much true that the blockade & continental system caused the color of the French uniforms to be so dull.

@@JohnsonTheSecond if you look slightly to the left you will see another French soldier but his coat is blue and the buttons are gold otherwise it is exactly the same

@@t.wcharles2171 that is his surtout coat to the left, in thumbnails and cutscenes the game devs use a lot of stuff that isnt in the final game, but these are the same as you see in Egypt campaign incorrectly. The white blockade coats were only for a short time and only in the habit style afaik, as in they had a lapelled front - and always had facings which weren't white, usually blue or black or green. However the game does show them in undershirts.

@@JohnsonTheSecond I assumed that they were Spanish as the uniforms of Spanish soldiers were already white and the similarities were probably caused by the recycling of assets which is why they look the same
