Thanks, man! Ya, I had the same problem in the past and got a warning. This video is just a talk. I DON'T show in video how to do anything with the game in that way. It's mainly my new playlist I made for gameplay and where you can find my other channel on Rumble. I appreciate the comment. It's a shame youtube does not look what is correct and ok to do. Because it's totally legal to get now since original owners no longer have any rights to it. They dropped the license like 14 years ago, haha. But I still am not going to show anything. I have tried everything to the point of tears to get this all to work. I own the game and have my own key. When I launch the game it says something about a mordor keep not existing and something about a typo and it closes. Please help me.

Ahh no!!! Well, there has been some updates lately. I actually have a newer video than this. And on top of that I plan to make a third rendition new video very soon at the time of this comment January 2025. But I'm waiting for the modders to fix something with a glitch that happened during a Windows update etc. So we might have a few weeks of waiting.

Hey. Thanks for the video. My Windows 11 PC blocked me from downloading the cd key generator, but I was able to find one online that seemed to work. Unfortunately when I went to step 4 to download the patches, that was blocked as well. I turned Windows Defender off and tried again, but it still gets blocked. Any advice or suggestions of where to look for help? Thanks!

Ya... I assume windows 11 will have a lot of issues with new security... I am sorry I don't know more myself. I think what you did is the best course. Look up how to bypass when it comes up

Thanks a lot for this! I tried to follow with my Mac Book M1 Pro and Vine. I installed BFME2 and then the Patcher, however I couldn't run the patcher afterwards to Patch it to 1.06 :( therefore I couldn't make it work. Do you have any links that I can follow to make it work? Tbh all I care is to have any of the basic game to work for single player BFME1, BFME2 or ROTWK.

Oh darn. I don't, I'm impressed you got that far on the Mac unfortunately I don't have a Mac so I've never been able to try it on that. Is the patcher not working maybe because of a firewall? Also are you using an emulator of some kind on your Mac to play it? You could possibly try to ask the people who made the mod on their mod page and see if they respond? Maybe they have something on macs?

@Jakobowsky I'll just warn you ahead Windows 11's firewall is a little bit weird for like the key generator etc. But for you that's probably no problem to turn that off when you set it up. Good luck! 👍 It's such a fun game! Hope you have a blast.

Hi mate, I'm having a real issue on the Good Campaign playing on Hard - right after the first mission (Rivendell), it goes to a little cut scene explaining how Glorfindel and Gloin have to team up, after that I get the usual BFME cursor but the rest of the screen is completely blank and nothing else will load. Do you have any suggestions? So frustrating!

So, I've downloaded it like five times with no virus issue. Even with my internet virus protection. But I have heard that Windows 11 struggles with downloading it more. Thank you for this! I own the BFME original disc and wished to make an ISO copy (just in case as I've had for way too many years already), but don't seem to be quite able to circumvent the DRM. Would anyone, by chance, know of a way how to do so in Linux? Or is it possible to do with the full version of some sold software (I've heard of CloneCD but as that is currently officially unavailable, as seems, there is a recommended alternative - DVDFab)? I don't mind paying for the software, but I'd prefer not to get any virus and/or scammed. One of the reasons I do prefer not to go the pirate way, personally.

Humm... Are you running Windows 11? Sounds like it might be some kind of Windows firewall. I did my whole video on Windows 10. There shouldn't be any difference with files. But I'm not sure if Windows 11 has new firewall protections that you may have to check. Sorry I don't have more info on it. I would take that error message and look it up online and see what it actually means.

@ yes I am running windows 11…but I did get a fix! I’ll explain in case someone else shares the same. First of all I had to make sure that the Options file (even though I didn’t need to change it) was inside the “My Battle for Middle Earth files” folder. I had it just in the Roaming folder. I also went into that same folder and added an empty folder titled Maps. For some reason that worked! Lol

This is a good question. I'm not sure, I don't own a Mac to try it on. You can ask the guys who did mod. I would assume you might need an emulator. But I don't know all the steps to make it work on a Mac. If it does work please tell us!

If you're on Windows 11 check your windows virus protect It might be blocking it. Otherwise you're going to have to ask the makers of the mod because I wouldn't know past that.

I recently picked this up again and man these games were ahead of its time I mean centry ahead! This type of vanilla customization for your hero and the style game play with early mods way ahead of time! Game was well thought out and balanced.
