To be honest, it was VERY unrealistic that L&P managed to change the minds of several real life scientists like George Smoot (who guest starred in season two and in the final season), or even DeGrasse Tyson (he insulted him for his part in removing Pluto from the solar system). I also dislike how Amy doesn’t even technically work at Caltech, yet they make her spend an inORDINATE amount of time there. Seriously, why did the writers stop trying with this show after season seven! At the very least, Leonard only had an asthma attack and left Mrs. Davis alone while Sheldon was racist, and Raj made a video that was WAY too long.

I had a professor in college who EVERYONE hated, including my program coordinator. Every time a new class came up in the curriculum, he sucked up to the dean and banded together with the other disliked professors to get the class. There was a conspiracy between the staff and some of the students to get him fired, but it didn't work. He had been there too long and eventually came up for tenure. That was the end of that. He still teaches there, even though he's an arrogant, chauvinistic jerk who has no idea what he's talking about.

I don’t really understand why did he dance (or whatever he did) in the final scene. I just can try to guess it was some cultural thing that only Americans are aware of. Like he tried to imitate what black people do (or better say he thinks they do) when they want to be friendly and it was like another inappropriate thing after the book. Never liked how the writers never settled this, nor explained WHO gets tenure. If you ask me, Leonard should’ve won the Nobel Prize, and he should have been given it, despite his attempts to snooze in this episode.

@@mrharvy100 Why not? Sheldon once admitted to being jealous of Leonard for being picked by STEVE HAWKING himself for the North Sea 🌊 expedition. Also, Sheldon also admitted that Kripke’s work was more advanced that his, and he CRIED, so it’s not implausible for someone else to upstage him. I also really hated the writers for COMPLETELY forgetting the working for the military story arc. Did they get paid? Was it a lot (at least enough to make Bernadette and Penny stop treating their spouses like shit)? Why didn’t Leonard and Howard sue or get Kripke in trouble for having stabbed them in the back with the work they had done; wasn’t that illegal? The answer: The writers were on drugs. Also, it would’ve been better if the writers had made Penny help HER HUSBAND, instead of Sheldon, because you know… THEY’RE MARRIED.

The cast moved from project to project and field to field to often over a very short amount of time. To win the Nobel Prize or get tenure you’re supposed to do something big on a specific project in a specific field that takes time. They should also have all had PhD students working for them for about 3 years. Sheldon should have spent the show working in theoretical particle physics working on thinking up a new particle and how to find it. Leonard should have been working on the discovery of new particles as part of an international research project using an accelerator or detector or designing the equipment to do that. Raj should have been an astronomer looking for specific astronomical phenomena by sweeping the universe one section at a time. Howard should have been part of an international collaboration designing and engineering a rover. Their projects would’ve taken years, included a lot of work, a lot of international travel and mostly rendered them non-existent characters.
