Often forgotten is the organisational skill of Catherine of Aragon. At a time when the king was absent and England was caught off guard, she deserves credit for her rise to the challenge in defence of England. Sad that later events tend to overshadow this particular event for Catherine.

Brilliant video, chap, and one that deserves a larger audience. As a Scot I wonder how our country would've been different if we'd not fought such a pointless battle.

Scotland never seemed able to pass up on an opportunity to stab England in the back. It would have been better for both countries if they could have lived alongside each other in peace.

The Scots front Rank were very well Harnessed, in fact they had good Armour better than the English , but the real Battle loser was the Long Pike it needed flat ground and good discipline, lacking in the Scots Army , it worked well with Home and Huntly's Divisions , as the ground suited there atttack ,and they hit the English in good order , sweeping them away , ,, the rest of the Scots Battle hit the marshy ground and the shock of the Pike did not work ,,The English lost More than 1400 , and the Scots lost between 5.000 and 10,000, , the problem was that most of the Scots leaders died , including the King , the Country never recovered , All for a Turquoise Ring and a foolish promise ,,,

There were between 30.000 - 40.000 Scots and only 26.000 English... And it was the Scottish who were placed on the high ground.... England were just a better army.
