Remember it had a long running story the history of the Hunnites and Timmites , one line i remember was ' Hunnites began knashing their teeth , the Timmites would have done same but they had knashed their teeth so much they had no teeth left to knash'! I knew someone who worked in printers and they tokd me they had printed the XMAS Special NOT THE VIEW, the boxes were stacked up (double the normal print run i was told) awaiting it to be collected (the printer was only a mile from Celtic Park) and the local CID Cops from London Rd appeared and told the printer there had been complaints from individuals at Celtuc FC and suggested / warned the printer was liable for any Defamation (a threat ) , as they left they asked the printer could they have any 'complimentary' NOT THE VIEWs for London Rd for the Cops !!!! They were given some. I remember that XMAS issue which had a Rangers Team including Hitler, Stalin, Ghenghis Khan, Klu Klux Klan, Souness, Murray etc VERY VERY funny, was told every one was sold first day and it was reprinted for next match.

Once again Tino a fantastic podcast. It provides the younger fans a knowledge of where we have come from to the success of today. It further underlines that if you don’t freshen up a board then you ultimately pay a price.

I loved these fanzines. We would be howling laughing on the way home in the car after a game reading aloud the satire. Very clever writing. There was an underlying seriousness about what we the fans knew where we were heading and these guys produced a highly entertaining mag that I used to collect. So annoying that I’ve somehow lost them. I’m defo up for a hard copy request. 💚🍀💚

Nice work Tino. I had already left Glasgow by the time NTV first appeared and I recall rolling about in laughter as I read those early editions down in London. It brought and still brings connection to Celtic's grassroots, the fans. That was its strength: Cektic from a fan's perspective. I remember the red card issue and as well as those who disgraced the Hoops, referred to in the film; something also about Handsome Hunz plus some of the games played on folks' names were hysterical : Terence Oliver Cromwell Slaughterhouse Butcher. WIld. It was a significant part of the process that lead to change so only right to feature its leading lights. I am looking forward to the book!

Tino, wow! what a great interview, as a Graphic Artist myself of that era, like Joe, I can relate totally the way publications were produced. Definitely no Photoshop in those days! Off to Lisbon on the 25th - if you know of a pub in the City to watch the SCF, it would be much appreciated. Regards. Vince 🍀

We need the new museum built to document and set in stone all these achievements of these great people who all put their shoulder to the wheel to push the club forwards to where we are today, and for more people of the next generation to keep the board accountable to the fans,I've loved these podcasts showing us these boy sticking their necks out to stop the exploitation of our club to greedy owners who were on self preservation mod 💚🤍💛

Totally agree Kevin.Whatever happened to the boards vision of a hotel, museum and ticketing office? It’s went strangely quiet.

Respect for these historical podcasts. The guys are looking good considering they're now free bus pass holders ❤ If you want a good laugh get a hold of Gerry Mcsherry, the last person on the planet who supported the old board. Btw the Celtic Supporters Association claimed they couldn't say anything about the old board because of their constitution. The entire CSA committee resigned the Sunday before Fergus took over at a meeting I was at in St Michael's Hall on the Gallowgate.

Fergus McCann is a celtic legend and should have more recognition at the stadium. Might have made 40mill but probably worked 70hrs a week for 5 years with massive risk and pressure. Publicly outed institutional bias against the club aswell.

The work he done in that 5 year spell was incredible @JK and its what laid the foundations for the celtic we see today

Not making a direct comparison JK but just asking the questions from guys who have experienced both at fairly close quarters 👍 Communication could definitely be better with modern day Celtic
