The Be-Sides jazz quartet credits their origination largely to Michael Hawkins and OMP (Orbital Music Park) for hosting the weekly jazz jam session on Sunday Nights from 7-9 at Révéler Experiences. Jack Byrnes, Rahib Amin, Stephan LaRue, and Dan Young (of the Be-Sides) came together to explore their musical interests on the band-stand as a compliment first as part of the jam session (the A-side). Early in 2023, the “group” (which at the time was but a serendipitous collection of passionate musicians) was asked to perform a set of their collaborative music from 9:30-11. In addition to booking all around Richmond, the Be-Sides maintains a weekly residency at Révéler where they continue to develop their sound, experiment with original music, and otherwise hone their craft.
