Here's our reaction to The Bear 2x10! This one was HIGHLY anticipated!
Everyone keeps telling us to watch this show. So we finally got around to it!
Join us as we follow a young chef, Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, after he inherits his family's Italian beef sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother. He comes home to Chicago to run it, leaving behind his world of working in a Michelin star restaurant. He is left to deal with his brother's unresolved debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff, while dealing with his own pain and family trauma.

My lip was qui-ver-ing when Jimmy got that chocolate banana. Richie sat on that info for over 5 years and the pay off 😢 And the line from Deb: "I love them so much and I'm so proud of them, and I don't know how to show it." Wrecked me. Every parent has felt that at some point, Lord knows I have. 😭

the scene between pete and donna absolutely broke my heart when i first saw it; man i cried. i don’t know that it was so much pete trying to convince her on behalf of sugar rather than it just being his own sweetness. either way, it hurt 🥺 oh and the “richie? drive.” moment? HYPE. i’m so glad you guys picked up this show and i hope you enjoyed your time with it! i definitely enjoyed watching with you guys. can’t wait for season 3!!

I'm very much a Pete, lol. I would act so similar in his position, in a relationship like he is with Natalie. I've had families of partners that I just didn't want to deal with, but The Berzattos seem to be as welcoming as they are aggressive. I'd love to know how he and Natalie met.

I love the way they made Richie's big moment in this episode. If you go all the way back to season 1, episode 7 (the one where Syd fucks up the preorder system and the kitchen becomes an absolute shitshow, all in one shot), the song that plays is "Spiders (Kidsmoke)", by Wilco, from start to finish. In this episode, when things begin to go wrong, that same song starts playing, but then Richie steps up, the music dies out and changes entirely, because this time he's in control

While Deedee's an absolute mess of a person, her breaking down to Pete who throughout the show has been show to be an absolute sweetheart who just wants what's best for people, and being completely at a loss for what to do absolutely broke me.

I’m wondering if they’ll begin S3 with Carmy coming out of the freezer. He put together a great team, but he didn’t call the fridge guy. Imagine, Donna lost her eldest son, then finds out from Pete that she’s going to be a grandmother. I think Uncle Jimmy mentioned a 🍫 🍌 during the Fishes episode.

This show hit home for me on so many levels. I'm from this area, I know people like these characters, and I had a family like Carm's. Really great show. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. If this doesn't stir some emotion inside you .... I don't know what could.

You guys can't remember the chocolate banana because you were perhaps traumatized during the Christmas dinner scene, lol. Before Tiff thanks Uncle Jimmy for giving Richie a job, she is having a banana for dinner, and they talk about Jimmy's own feelings for his fat eff father on the way there as they passed the stand where he bought him chocolate bananas as a kid. Tiff makes a puke joke when he says "it brings it all back up."

Yes, typically restaurants number their tables by sections. So first section in 10s, second section is 20s etc. Each section may only have 3 or 4 tables depending on the size of the restaurants and number of wait staff.

I think Nat wanted Donna there so that she could tell her mom about the baby (thats why she hadn't old her yet). Pete hadn't realized that Donna didn't know. Just one of the many scenes in this epi that was a homerun. Pete's absolute heartbreak and Donna being so afraid and not feeling worthy. I am just scared Donna may harm herself tho.

You guys said it best, this whole season has built up to leaving us with THE BEAR. It feels so appropriate that, while the restaurant may have been really successful this episode, and they did an amazing job- But they still can't escape all the things in their life, outside of the restaurant, that were usually always there. WHEN MARCUS IS THE ONE TO RAISE HIS VOICE Uncle J talked about getting chocolate bananas with his dad growing up, and when Richie's wife was having one during the Christmas dinner- He shared that story. Love Uncle J. Of course- Carmy ends up LOCKED IN almost the entire time. If it were any other character- He'd just be happy that the restaurant did well, regardless of his input but given who he is PLUS everything with Claire. I'm afraid of what kind of Carmy we'll get in Season 3 to start. A lot less hopeful than Season 1 - 2. I love that you can tell the mom is good deep down, but so broken- It's a strong choice to write such a realistically broken character. After this season, learning about the family- I'm EXTREMELY interested as to what the story concerning the father is. I love how much Pete cares not just about Natalie, but about her whole family- He's just a genuinely nice guy. You guys rule!

Thanks for watching with us! Honestly, it's a toss up between Fishes and Forks for me.. But I think I'm leaning Forks. Richie's arc and development got me. So damn good.

I hope that Nat's baby is a turning point for Donna. She didn't freak out and cause a scene when she found out that Nat didn't tell her about the pregnancy...maybe she's finally going to realize that's she's the one who sabotages herself with her kids, and can have kind of a fresh start with her grandchild. This is such an amazing show, I'm usually not this invested in characters, but I love all of these beautiful, broken people.

Notice how Richie always calls her Claire Bear, like he's already welcomed her to the family. During the Christmas episode, Richie's wife tells him that Claire is "too nice" to be set up with Carmy and that night Carmy proved her right. Richie in a way feels responsible for that so the argument is justified. Carmy is his mother's son..
