The problem with our run D is the rotation. Just look at the Hubbard TD, no Dexter on the field, Williams was in and got confused and missed his block. That's the price you pay with rotation on the D-line with the run game. The quality of the player drops when the bears do that

I wasn't aware that those two weren't there. Makes sense then because they were simply overpowered. They obviously took advantage of this rotation to get that score.

​@nwchrista Williams was definitely in that play. Dexter was definitely on the bench. I have noticed when the bears lose big chunk plays in the run game. Dexter or Billing's or Walker are missing. In some occasion's 2 from the 3 are on the bench

You are the only person I see on KZbin talking about the defensive line which personally makes me nervous the only young player that appears to be in it for the championship is Big Dex and I’m trying to figure out how they are going to get more quality young guys on that side of the ball when everybody else is saying, we need to rebuild the offensive line. I’m curious what you think. Because Zero first round capital into the defense so far and personally I find that troubling 🐻🔽

They absolutely do need to add a premium edge rusher if they don’t it will bite them in the ass against the entire NFC North. 3 of the teams have 3 of the top 5 OL’s in the NFL and the only way to counteract that is massively upgrade the edge position and rush 4 and let that best secondary in the NFL play coverage behind it. Relying on blitzing these QB’s in the North is a bad idea it’s why the Packers have always killed the Bears you need an elite pass rushing unit and you pay whatever it takes to get a guy like Crosby or Garett to complete this defense and then in the off-season spend all your money in FA on a LT, C and either re sign Teven to a Nate Davis contract or pay a RG or LG and then in the draft go draft a LG or RG. Bears cannot throw out 4 rookies on the OL next year or one at LT and C those spots need to be high paid proven vets. It takes years to develop an OL unit Bears don’t have years to do that while trying to win now you do what the Cheifs and Patriots did which is pay big $ for FA OL to start the process and draft and develop guys behind them so you can just recycle but you can’t just throw them out there right away and expect it to go good or expect to win alot of football games.

It would take multiple firsts/seconds to do this. You don't trade away that kind of draft capital AND have to pay a guy. So you lose cap space AND low priced high round rookies. Building homegrown players through the draft is the way to go.

@@justinbeynon7980 No it wouldn’t take multiple firsts and seconds. At the very most it would take a Khalil Mack trade which was 2 1st’s a 3rd and a 6th for Mack a 2nd and a conditional 5th. You get 2 2nd rounders this year and next and the Bears can’t waste years of Caleb’s contract hoping rookies pan out that defeats the purpose of resetting the QB clock. They gotta go all in this deadline and this upcoming offseason it’s just a fact.

Why Khalil Herbert has fell out of favor with the Bears is baffling to me because it's not based on performance. Johnson isn't a better runner than Herbert. Maybe a better pass blocker but not a better RB. And if Swift gets hurt you're going to rely on Johnson who gets hurt a lot too. Johnson is just a battering ram, he's not elusive. He takes a lot of hits. I wouldn't trade Herbert, they need him.

Concussion Protocol requires guys to get their heart rate up, then retest with mobility drills... Guys can be fine doing daily activities, but have symptoms arise when their heart rate increases, or they can be prone to dizziness.

Khalil Herbert is a superb running back. He's better than Swift and perhaps even his predecessor, now in Detroit. What's not being said here is that Poles, one by one, removed the former regime's draft picks. The last few remaining are kmet, Jaylon Johnson, and Khalil Hebert. Khalil should've gotten that big contract over Swift. I like Swift but he's not as good of a runner as Khalil or Montgomery. He's faster and a better catcher and I'm waiting for him to suffer the inevitable injuries, due to being skinny.
