Right after buying the Manticore 4 months ago ive struggled to get the "gist" of the machine. So im open to advice from others. Ive had a couple of hammered at first but had more than a few bad days. So I decided to watch your videos as you seemed a lots more "clued" up than me. So set the machine up with the program you've described here and more importantly listened to you. Now first day out for only a couple of hours and I ve noticed a big difference and I found a nice Anglo Saxon Styca (790AD 806AD) It might be just a happy coincidence but im going to give it a couple of months without any drastic changes, so thank a lot pal.

This programme has been doing me proud, all i change mainly is the recovery speed and sens to suit field, keep it simple, let the manti do the rest…. Trust the machine

I am glad to see somebody else use 0 ground balance. I don't understand how a lot of the popular Nox settings suggest GB of 0 (at least for the UK) yet the same people's settings for the Manticore suggest to always ground balance

Sometimes a gb can make machine more unstable if not balanced correctly to ground

Thx Sid very generous of you, keep waiting for you to show it up against the Nox side by side comparison and tests that you have carried out in the past with other machines, No one is showing this and that leads me to believe that there isn't that much difference. On the beach yes. I just need to be totally convinced before bitting the bullet, the Nox is still a great machine.

I was adjusting the stabiliser on the fly myself the other day on a few targets. I ended up turning mine down to 2 or 3 in the end, a little bit helped in most cases of multiple messy targets like this, but then you also need to look at the recovery speed in these situations. It’s all a balance I guess. I noticed swing speed also matters, if you set your recovery speeds up at your normal pace, then change swing speed, ie; slow down for instance, the signals will blend together more. A faster swing separated the targets on my display better in my most recent tests. I’ll record it and post next time. Great vid as always thanks. I must stop watching them at this time of night though, it just makes me want to go out detecting already !! 😂😂😂

Totally of topic. But have just gone back to your old settings on the NOX what have done me well in the past. Have nothed the minus numbers in again and its brilliant. Have just tested it against the manti beech to land settyings and against these settings on the NOX and it responds better and bangs better than the manticore on small silver. Field 1 - 2 tone - recovery 5 - FE 1

Hi Sid. Tried this new programme in 'fast' today. What a 'tweak'! It really does winkle out the small stuff. I got a really iffy feint signal, an 'only-just' signal and so I switched over to your old/previous programme I had in 'General' and it couldn't get it at all. It turned out to be a tiny sort of tinny washer but worth the digging to show what this new prog is capable of. Thanx Sid

I'm wondering if trashy sites are where the Manti has the edge on other detectors, if set up "correctly". The stabiliser is good but I would also have a play with changing from normal to enhanced sounds. It has the effect of breaking up iron signals and emi chatter so good signals pop more. Another benefit of this is you can notch up the sensitivity. I've yet to work out how this affects detecting depth though. I might be saying don't use it next week!

Nice vid, I’ve seen another video, so with a higher recovery speed like 6 would you be losing a lot of depth. Or have you tested that scenario
@englandshistory9 ай бұрын
Low recovery will give you depth for sure but if there is lots of iron present and using a low recov you will deffo be loosing targets as the iron will be masking them out... all about getting the right balance to suit
@dirtytonesdetecting9 ай бұрын
I’ve not actually used it yet, was speaking to your mate John at a go Midlands dig and doing a couple of tests, and resulted in me managing to straight swap my deus 2 for the manti ✌️ buzzing

@englandshistory8 ай бұрын
Itll hoover em up, to start with ignore the upper targets that come from upper limits and sound clipped, you can chase the really iffy ones after… but dig everything else, tricky roman fibs give a sausage shape from centre line and drag down to lower limits so don’t leave them behind

@englandshistory9 ай бұрын
Nox is still an absolute animal, the thing with the manti is it's more adaptable and packed with features... do they give you an amazing advantage over the 800...🧐 not on the easy targets no very similar but..... it will get targets the 800 missies especially ones masked by minerals and iron... so if you have very productive sites that you've cleaned out the manti will get more targets... good example was a friend has a mega Roman field that's only small 1 acre if that, it's been hammered by all machines for over 5 years... he went over the hot area with manti and pulled out a big stunning fibula that was only 3-4 inch deep... we've bashed the area and deffo missed with other machines so it was being masked out by the minerals and iron but manti banged it out... @markymarkgonedigging
