Some 65 years ago I found my pet rabbet dead under similar circumstances beneath the edge of a bush. It was a neighbors cat that was the cause of my pets death. Even though I know that it was I who failed to protect my pet I had a strong dislikes for cats that lasted many decades. I now work at wildlife rehab center. I form attachments with animals that I care for many weeks that will be predictor and prey when released back into the wild. Life is not fair. Keep in mind that that the "beast" was just following instinct as cats follow their instant. The only animal that scares me is man who should know better when causing hurt to others. I am sorry for the loss of the cat. I know what it means to loose a friend.
