some updated thoughts on the Beast: 1) my finger dragging observations are still mostly valid and can allow this pad to dip into more well rounded aim, there are two issues i've noticed as i've tried to improve on this thing. the first is that sweat on your fingers will make the experience of the finger dragging change, and become more similar to things like the skypad 3. you probably need to be in a fairly controlled environment. the second is how it's significantly harder to _only_ engage your fingers during flicks. with cloth you can lightly drag your fingers on the pad and retain a fairly normal aiming experience, but with glass, it makes a bigger impact on the fluidity of movements. it was harder to get the benefits of finger dragging as result of this. 2) despite the benefits of responsiveness making the speed feel more manageable, it's still insanely fast. I found I had to make a more conscious effort to not tense excessively on flicks or under pressure. if you have a stronger mental and better mouse control than me though, i still really like it for tracking games and general aim. i never quite got to the same level of confidence on wide/offscreen flicks as with slower pads though, which makes sense haha 3) the rate of skate wear is slightly faster than normal. it's not really a problem for me, but if you hate changing skates, you'll likely notice after a few weeks that the pad is giving a lot more feedback than it used to. i still think this pad is amazing at what it does, but it's not been quite as well rounded as i wanted. if you have really good smoothness, mouse control, tension management, and mostly play games/have a style that's more tracking focused makes this pad a 10/10. pushing flick speed just feels like i have to put in way more effort than i'd like to compared to slower pads though. def could be skill issue tho.

@@Truth13711 not much faster in practice, hard to give an estimate. maybe like 10% faster! however i don't think it would necessarily create the least fatigue and tension. i think the faster a pad is, the more unintentional tension will be involved with your aim. it's definitely possible for the tension involved in things like fine control to be trained away, but for things like pushing flick speed it feels like a physical necessity

Hey just a question for glass pads in general, how many of you guys actually oil/pledge your pads? i found that it helped a lot with consistency since the thin oil coat it came with felt really good to play on and the next day it was kinda sticky(ier?) feeling after cleaning with some isopropyl alcohol and oil smudges from my hand would cause fast spots on it.
@miclwastakenАй бұрын
it would seem that my aim is just immediately better when i put pledge on my mousepad (sp 3.0)
@kami3449Ай бұрын
Pledge has citric acid in it, that will damage any coating on the pad you use and over time remove it completely. I'd much rather just use slower skates than to risk damaging the surface.
@miclwastakenАй бұрын
@@kami3449 if you bought a mousepad with a coating you may have irreparable braindamage (just my opinion) edit: PLEASE GOD explain to me what led you to the conclusion that pledge has citric acid in it, I don't understand
@kami3449Ай бұрын
@miclwastaken All current glasspad offerings have a coating from skypads to glsswrks to padsmith and so forth, the only popular pad that doesnt have one is the glaze. I have 9 glasspads with 2 on the way. A simple google search will also tell you exactly whats in pledge, using isopropyl alcohol above 70% will also damage the coating over time. There is nothing about glasspads that I am not aware of as I've been using them for over a year and a half. Also, I've spoken with the people in charge of a few of them like glaze, wallhack, glsswrks, Padsmith, and pulsar. They are in their own discords and twitter all the time and will gladly inform you or anyone else of the glass making process and what kind of coatings they use and what not to do to damage their respective surfaces. The information is out there, if you chose to ignore it, then that's on you.
@kami3449Ай бұрын
@miclwastaken Incase you weren't aware, the 003 as well as the 004 has a chemical coating which is different from every other glasspad company. Pledge will actually deteriorate that 003 faster than a glsswrks for example because their coating is heat bonded with the glass itself. In case you also weren't aware, there are currently no glasspads on the market besides the ikea glass and glaze that doesn't have some type of coating.

@pinguefied Yea it really sucks. I've emailed skypad before and they couldn't help and I remember testing it vs my razer Strider and the Strider felt just as fast, if not faster. Hey pingu, I recently re-watched your video about mouse accel and I wonder. Do you still use mouse acceleration? If yes, what configs do you currently use? If not, why did you stop?
@pinguefied29 күн бұрын
i stopped using mouse accel at some point in late 2022 or early 2023. imo, at some point in your mouse control journey it becomes a limiter for how much you're allowed to improve your mechanics. essentially you are creating a band-aid fix for flick speed (esp arm based flicks) and precision, which prevents you from practicing it very effectively. since no longer using it i've become much more consistent with both of these skills! you can definitely still be good with it and in some games it will barely be a limiter at all. viscose has a good vid on it that reflects my experience pretty much 1:1! i tried basically every curve u could think of and i don't regret using it at all; it was rly fun, made my performance better in the short term, allowed me to start learning to control higher sens, and made me more motivated to play and practice. it's up to you if/when you feel like it's limiting!

@pinguefied27 күн бұрын
@@peterpanda7475 i've heard good things about the empress but i have no personal experience sadly :< harut and sp4 are objectively higher quality pads than the sp3 but they both offer slightly more niche experiences. the harut being a greater amount of static friction, and the sp4 being just stupid fast. the qol of the sp3 is kinda shit so it's hard to recommend wholeheartedly, but it is the most standard glass experience of the 3. - if you think you really want to see how fast mousepads can be and what they do to your aim, try sp4! - if you want a very standard experience to dip your toes in and get a feel for the niche, skypad 3. - if you only want to buy one glass pad ever, maybe the harut/empress? both high quality, very smooth pads you will probably be happy with if you have never used anything else.
