Great video, although I've been playing most of them since they were first released it's very enlightening to see all the nuances I've missed and often different ways of playing what should be the same thing. It’s amazing how they used to do those arrangements where George would just lay out . I think most other rock bands with two guitarists there are all these doubled stacked guitar parts which muddle things up…the Beatles tended to be so concise and clean on parts as far as not just doubling things for the sake of it. Fantastic as usual.

Mike, I love this series. Just great stuff. One question. If George is using his 360/12 Rick on this one, wouldn't they have to have been overdubs in the February session, since he didn't get that guitar until they were in America in early February, after the Paris session? He did have another Rickenbacker at the time, but it was a 6 string 425 he purchased in Ilinois in 1963 while visiting his sister. Again, really love these videos.

Love learning from the Beatles Guru! You are an awesome instructor. I do have a question about George's solo in this song, in particular, the fact that you referenced that Paul prescribed (my word) what George should play. Did Paul go so far as to tell George in which position the solo should be played in? I saw a video of a live version of Can't Buy Me Love and the solo is nearly the same as yours with one exception. After the second bend on the B-string, George picks up the C-note not at the fifth fret of the G-string but at the 10th fret of the D-string and plays the descending pentatonic line from there. He then picks up the Eb-A-C triad (Cm6?) back on the first and second frets like in your tutorial. You could play that same triad on the 5th, 6th and 7th frets, too, with less movement around the fret board. So, do you think this is George being George or McCartney telling him exactly how (and in what position) he wanted the solo played? It seems like an unusual move to me. Also, from this point on, how much did Paul (or John) "tell" George what to play and, in your opinion, how did this affect the Beatles music moving forward? George was such a beautiful and instinctive player (who you have made me appreciate so much more!)

@@MPfrance The reissue J-160E's never sounded or felt like the Quality of the vintage versions I have played. I have owned your Country Classic and I would agree, having also owned a newer 6122 Harrison Model, that the Classic is the better of the two.
