I'm always miffed when I get a note from somebody whining about a free lesson e.g. "why don't you teach the bass also" or "play everything much much slower so a total beginner can learn also" (I do make the charts and tabs available). It takes me LITERALLY the better part of an entire week to research, decipher, learn, memorize, write out charts and tabs, videotape, audio record, edit (audio & video), insert diagrams (I create in PhotoShop), bounce to video and then upload (the upload process alone takes 5-6 hours) just to complete one video lesson. So when I get a note from somebody like you (who was also kind enuff to subscribe like I ask) it truly gladdens me. Thanks again!

Mike, I realize you are very successful as a musician,producer,etc. and I know you are just emulating their genius,but as talented as you are how are you not a rock/pop star?
@MPfrance3 жыл бұрын
Sam Cortese - That's not the 1st time I've been asked that question. I'm always surprised that it's not commonly known that becoming a "rock/pop star" is probably less likely than winning the lottery. There's always millions of musicians trying to gain fame and fortune and those that do - are simply lucky. It's really not based on talent. It's based on luck. They should teach THAT in music schools. And If you look at the myriad of mediocre musicians that are famous - that proves my "not based on talent" point. On the other hand - I was never THAT fond of traveling extensively. I'm a home-body. I have been on many tours - but the one time I was on tour for a year and a half - I ended up hating it. So I never really pursued stardom. I've had three different record contracts and also found them to be exhausting. I learned first hand how companies rip you off. If it was common knowledge about how little "rock/pop star(s)" actually earn - there'd be way less musicians chasing the golden ring and instead - they'd be satisfied with being a big fish in a small pond.
