I have the original on an acetate 'floppy disc' issued to members of the official fan club. It is hilarious, but most of it is missing. The 'greetings' are from one of their earlier Christmas record; they released one very Christmas from 1963 to 1969.

Funny, The Beatles did a Christmas single every year for their fan club so there are 7 at least that could be put out or all in one as the originals were all done in sessions so more than one version of each that exist as well, - but yes, they should put this stuff out because they only ever got to fan club as flexy discs each year eventually being bootlegged to death and so on. I had a bootlegged version of all 7 and a great record I brought out every year, great fun. I believe there was a box set released a few years ago, but limited, sadly, so the stuff is out there.

John reciting a Christmas message in that Scottish burr, at once old-fashioned and avant-garde, is vintage Lennon. It's cool, for reasons obscure. I guess it has to do with the Romantic fascination with the exotic, remote, and the past.

Coz in a state called queretaro, there is a radio station which dadicated 1 hr special program to the Beatles every weekend. This station would play worldwide hits, really worldwide hits very well known not only in the USA but in the rest of the world. 70’s 80’s 90’s and some 2000’s global English hits. I’m 25 now

Awesome story. What you just shared with us shows us that the music of these guys is iconic, timeless, and has no boundaries. I'm 39 and so the music of the 80s and 90s are what I remember from my childhood. But I also listened to earlier music . . .I was one of very few my age that did and I think that might be why music like this has stayed with me more than any other genre. It was more personal. It's awesome to know that young people out there are still loving this.

I used to listen to that same radio program every Saturday at 10 a.m. and I was a 12 years old teenager too, I remember that they used this song (and many other Beatles Christmas related audios and songs) every Saturday of December, also I remember the cover section, the solo section, the anniversaries and the specials they made whenever it was John, Paul, George or Ringo's birthday. You brought me back to those old days when I woke up early only to listen to that radio program.

i bet it was taken from their annual x-mass recordings. the Beatles released seven consecutive Christmas records on flexi disc for members of their UK and US fan clubs, from 1963 to 1969, ranging in length between 3:58 and 7:48. These short collections had a mix of spoken and musical messages for their official fan clubs. after the break up these were all compiled onto a single album and released in 1970 exclusively for their fan club. the album is titled "the beatles christmas album." the cover of this album is what i'm talikng about. its great. whoever designed it deserves some kind of an award.
