I like seeing Mike playing his beloved Rickenbacker guitar, we know how much he loves those guitars😊😊😅😅
@MPfrance9 ай бұрын
@lewis- I will laugh along with you, but the fact of the matter is that they sound and play like crap. Truth of the matter is - they are only cool because John played one - but Lennon only played one because he couldn’t find (or afford) a fender (which he & George wanted) or a better guitar to buy, but as soon as he was able, he hung up his Rik.
@lewisgreen16339 ай бұрын

I remember when With the Beatles came out…so many iconic songs . I liked Devil, but was kinda surprised it came in at #2 on requests. So I played it the 1st time after your presentation (so much more than a lesson). It’s really fun to play and there’s no comparison to George Harrison. Also shout out to the harmonies and left handed hofner on your recreation. Fab!

Hey Mike, this was great, it really shows how the Beatles 'treatment' worked on the covers they did. On the Donay's version the opening riff is played through most of the choruses, which includes the part where it sounds like it's coming in early, so George was just copying that. 👍👍
@MPfrance9 ай бұрын
@ARW - You're a bit mixed up. On the Donay's version the guitarist does NOT come in early like George's mistake. The guitarist DOES play that odd slide down that George copied tho'...

@@MPfrance I was put off at school - when I asked a piano player sat at a piano to play something the response was 'I can't without the music in front of me' my thought was then what's the point, when the music is in _you ! Naive and a mistake I regretted -years later I realised it's just a useful tool to help interpret what's in front of you - up to interpretation thereafter. Good way of quickly communicating the task ! At an early age I was thrown out of the music class for playing a Beatles riff on a Cello ! There began a 'parting of the ways' between me and the music teacher. My ears have been the best guide - reading came a lot later.

Great job on this one again Mike. For fellow Guitarists my advice unless your in a Beatles tribute band. Avoid Rickenbacker Guitars . The necks are very narrow and they have no power. Yet they cost a fortune. Of course only because John & George (12 -String version ) played them. They look great I own a 6 & 12 myself. However I rarely play them. I play a Epiphone Casino instead. All 3 Beatles had one of those and they have power and are much easier to play than a Ric at about 3 grand less
