@@mariogmajner6549 In fairness, it's still too early to say. But also bear in mind that, whereas most even semi-educated people can quote a line or two from Shakespeare, hardly any can from Marlowe. And it is in THAT sense that - in all seriousness - many of us feel that at least SOME of the music of the Beatles will survive in the Popular Mind many more decades, and possibly even centuries; in a way, sadly, that the music of another English genius (of which there have been many) - John Dowland - has not, alas. Point ?

You're so right. The Beatles music is still powerful and is ageless. This song and "Something" are two of the greatest songs George Harrison ever wrote and recorded. And they're two of the greatest songs ever on the album Abbey Road! George wrote this song while skipping out on one of the group's business meetings and hanging out in Eric Clapton's garden, he was so affected by the clear sunny day and the beauty he was surrounded by that he was inspired to write this song!

My 17-year-old son's middle name is "Harrison" after George. (My husband and I were both musicians.) :) But I let my kids discover music on their own, and even though my son's a drummer, he dedicated himself to learning this song on guitar because it was one of his favourites. Then in Oct. last year, he decided he wanted to write/record an album--and he did it! And there are two tracks on it that almost sound like they could be 'lost' George Harrison songs, which I could've never planned when I gave him that name, but it kinda felt like something 'right' in the universe for it to turn out that way. :) Music changes lives!
