Mike, while your guitar playing is outrageously great, as always, but your vocals are also tremendous. Singing BOTH John and Paul's parts requires a vocal range which isn't easy by any means. Great work.

I love how the word “Looser” isn’t used in the regular sense of “Not being Successful” and more used in the literal sense of actually “Loosing someone/Love” I love songs that seem so common but have a twist and different spin on it .. that make it deeper than you actually think..❤

Deeper would be knowing how to spell "loser".

I love how the songwriter tells the listener “and so it’s true pride comes before a fall. I’m telling you so that you don’t loose all” “I wrote this song as a lesson learned and maybe you might not have to go through the pain I’ve gone through” ❤

You make learning guitar fun. Not a lot of preachy talking about music theory, instead you get to the point. Learning the history about each song is a lesson in itself. What happens when you run out of songs in the Beatles catalogue?

Thanks Mike. Another super picking apart of this great Beatle song. Instruments to one side, I have to say on the record, the opening harmony of Lennon McCartney just makes my ears sparkle. By the way, congratulations, for playing the Hofner bass left-handed. or was it just a visual horizontal flip? Keep up the great work.

As a kid the Lads made me a Power Pop fanatic, sitting on the step at my grandparents house in East Liverpool this song popped up on Wednesday, 7 October 1964 on ABC, it struck me, how could Lennon who went to the Toppermost of the Poppermost be a loser ? ! Not being a Country fan as a kid somehow I dug it, George's Perkinesk playing was kool ! As always, great job breakin' the details down Mike.

All in respect, George's guitar solo is a Chet Atkins technique, alternating bass and middle string with a flat pick. Atkins does it with a thum pick. George uses a flat lick like Carl Perkins did.

Funny I thought kind of the same as John 😂 when I first heard this song … I felt like the Looser and clown lyrics were kind of lame/dumb .. but when you listen to it after you’ve lost someone you care a lot for .. the feelings fit and hit you kind of hard 😂 “ I’m a looser and I’ve lost someone who’s near to me. I’m a looser and I’m not what I appear to be” “ although I laugh and I act like a clown , beneath this mask I am wearing a frown. My tears are falling like rain from the sky. Is it for her or myself that I cry?” Such a great song ❤

Apart from your outstanding teaching and service you provide to your Beatles-loving audience, I noticed your striped shirt while playing John’s acoustic part. Was that purposeful? Many photos in late 1964 into 1965 depict Lennon wearing his noticeable striped shirt and sunglasses. Cool move on your part!

I don't use any special type of strings. I don't find much difference what-so-ever in one brand or another. So I usually buy whatever is least expensive. And please know that MOST tone comes from somebody's hands.
