As a Christian, I have deep respect for Mary and the vital role she played in God's plan as the mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ. However, the Bible teaches us that worship is reserved for God alone. Mary herself acknowledged this when she said in Luke 1:46-47, 'My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,' showing that even she saw herself as a servant of God in need of a Savior. God also commands us to worship Him exclusively. In Exodus 20:3-5, He says, 'You shall have no other gods before me... You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God.' Additionally, in Isaiah 42:8, God declares, 'I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.' Even Jesus affirmed this when He said in Matthew 4:10, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.' While we can admire Mary’s faith and obedience, the Bible clearly teaches that our prayers, adoration, and worship should be directed to God alone, who is the only one worthy of such honor.
