Do you believe in your humble opinion that most or all of Mr. Britt's stereo re-mixes are superior to the recently released Giles Martin mixes of these tracks ?

When I listen to your remixes, I experience almost the same delight as I did when I was a child. The Beatles sound new, as if they were born again and sang their own songs again, but better. I'm thrilled!

Great work 😎👌 Still blows me away that when you consider This Boy was recorded October 1963 and I Am The Walrus recorded September 1967 that’s just under four years….(also Tomorrow Never Knows recorded April 66 just over two and a half years after This Boy) their transition was incredible and at the same time always moving never ever in a holding pattern and that included their ever changing image which could change within a year.

I know that feeling. I remember it well from when I was a teenager back in the 60's and I'm honored that you're equating my videos with that! Thank you. For now the well is running dry as only recordings from the recently re-released 'Red' and 'Blue' albums are allowed for KZbin publishing. I'm thinking about doing some videos without an audio remix because many recordings from these albums just do not need remixing in my opinion. I'm starting to get a bit of a handle on video production. Thanks for your comment!

Give credit to the Giles Martin remixes, which I have used as my sources, for the fuller sound. I just moved things around a bit to make it more interesting. Quite often, I did push the bass and kick drum a bit for a more energized sound. Thanks for listening!

I'm wondering... are you Giles' alter ego? Sometimes I feel that your production output is the result of someone avoiding some contractual issues and doing what you think is artistry viable for the songs, and not what the weight of the legacy/company's executives and stakeholders might demand, similar to what I believe the Beatles' pretended to do recording under the name of "Sgt. Pepper's" in 67. If it is nothing about that, sorry for the conspiracy theories haha, I wish you might do all the catalog, and I hope Apple contracts you to bring back to life "Carnival of Light", I think you're the man for doing that in cooperation with Giles.
@britt2001bАй бұрын
Thank you for your nice comment and no need to apologize. I'm not Giles but I would love to work with him since I'm 72 years of age and I'm firmly rooted in the core, so to speak, of The Beatles recordings in a way that he isn't since he wasn't even born at the time my passion for The Beatles and how they were recorded began. He has the influence of his legendary father but that's still no substitute for living in and experiencing the recordings from the 1960's. Please keep in mind that I'm mixing these Beatle recordings in a way that I think the sound engineers from that era (early to mid 1960's) would have if they just would have had a few more multi-tracks available to them at that time. 'A Hard Day's Night' was was one of their early recordings on a 4-track machine having just recently been using a 2-track machine. My mixes reflect what I think they would have have sounded like had they been mixed on an 8-track machine. Giles is rooted in 100 track machines or more. I feel his mixes are targeted to a younger listener as mine take his revisions and mix them to a listener that is more conditioned to earlier mixing styles. That's just my theory. Thanks for listening!

I use the $70 version of RipX to de-mix and the free Audacity DAW to remix. I make many manual modifications by ear in the digital work station.

As a test, haven't you ever tried using AI to make Paul sing for example "Yesterday" ? Would that new versión sound better than the original one ?
@britt2001b4 ай бұрын
There's plenty of wonderful footage of Paul singing 'Yesterday' over the years. I only use A.I. when there is no available footage. As far as a audio remix, it would be extremely hard to make 'Yesterday' sound better or more interesting than what's been done. Isolating and separating the strings behind his vocal gave this recording a wonderful new way of enjoying it!
