How do you play the A SUS 4 chord?
@bandbaaja
@bandbaaja Жыл бұрын
If you play E7 as 022130 after that when you play A sus 4, just bring the 2nd and 3rd finger down one string while keeping the pinkie on the 3rd fret B string - so it becomes X02230

Suspended 4(sus4)indicates a d note(In music theory the c# note of the Amajor triad becomes d).Using the ‘Circle of Fifths & Fourths’ wheel diagram. * If it is a suspended 2nd(sus2) then a b note is added while the c# is removed of the Amajor triad)
@bandbaaja
@bandbaaja Жыл бұрын
Sus typically means removing the 3rd note thereby not showing a major or minor. So from A major to A minor you can say that the C# becomes C. But in an Asus4 you cannot say C# becomes D. The right way to say it is “remove the 3rd and add the 4th” and sus2 is “remove the 3rd and add the 2nd” the best part is that an Asus2 is the same as Esus4 :)

Em/G should be G6? F should be F major 7? Asus4 should be Asus2?
@bandbaaja
@bandbaaja Жыл бұрын
All 3 are perfectly possible Sir. I used the following based on what I thought I heard… Em/G because I did not hear the D else it would be G6 (or Em7) F because while melody moves to E, chord and bass remain within F and no hint of E anywhere Asus4 because I could distinctly hear the the D and E on top of- but Mr Rick Beato (who I look up to) says Asus2 which means B and E on top so I am not sure of that one now. 🙏

Instead of Em/G I do G6 (1-G; 2-B; 3-G; 4-E; 6-G) and instead of F Fmaj7
@bandbaaja
@bandbaaja Жыл бұрын
Yes that works too its all in the similar space G6 adds the D note which i don’t as I didnt hear it. Fmaj7 is where the singing melody is so it goes well. But again I didnt hear the E note in the harmony hence didnt play it
@MauroGuerreiro
@MauroGuerreiro Жыл бұрын
@@bandbaaja Ok. I understand. But G6 adds a E note. I only wrote it this way because I clearly hear the G being doubled an octave higher. But I recognize that it would be more work to do this chord on the guitar, and that your way of doing it is the most sensible for the guitar, G6 only with the E of the fourth string, or as you described, Em/G, which is actually a G6. The chord you used I believe is the most suitable for the guitar.

Some instructors use AM ---then G6 intro ---others use AM --then EM intro ---so which is correct ?
@bandbaaja
@bandbaaja Жыл бұрын
So this is the scene. Melody moves from Am (note E to B) So ideally the next chord after Am is the obvious Em. BUT what happens is that they move the bass note from A to G and keep the E string and B string ringing open. So it can be an Em with G on the bass like I played or it can be a G with the B and E open making it a G6. The only difference is that the Em/G does NOT have the D note in it and G6 has the D note. I could not hear the D there so i played Em/G Also at Asus4 many say its Asus2 but that is where i also hear a harmony going from D to C while melody is going from B to C So both chords work there too! Hope that helps! 🙏
