Best band this world will ever see. Some folk might disagree, but the world now is in such a mess, we will all be wishing we could go back in time to the swinging 60s.

@@guyfawkesuThe1 YOU DISPLAY YOUR IGNORANCE. NOBODY WAS ATTEMPTING TO DECEIVE ANY AUDIENCE, ''RINGO WAS DANCING WITH THE AUDIENCE AT THE END. NO STUDIO OR TV. FOR INSTANCE, NOBODY, ON TOP OF THE POPS , OR SIMILAR TV SHOW, WHERE SEVERAL GROUPS WERE DUE ON, EVER PLAYED LIVE, UNTILL THE VERY END OF THE 1990'S, BECAUSE EACH GROUP NEEDED TO CHANGE THE SOUND MICS AND LIGHTING EQUIPPMENT, FOR EVERY TURN. IT WOULD TAKE FAR TOO LONG ANYWAY. MIMING WAS A GIVEN, EVEN IN THE USA. INCLUDING THE GREAT ED MURROW SHOW. BUT THERE WERE EXCEPTIONS, LIKE THE BEATLES.

I'm astonished that "It won't be Long" seemed to got lost in the shuffle... It's a total gem and every time I hear it my mind goes right back to being 9 years old in those magical early days of Beatlemania. That little re-occurring guitar riff George plays gives it the perfect touch.

They had a fresh new sound. An original style. They didn’t sound like anybody else. This was big factor of the appeal and popularity. Plus they were so charming, funny, hip and young. They couldn’t miss becoming the next big thing. Then they became bigger than Elvis. When Lennon said that he wanted to be bigger than Elvis, it seemed 😢😢a far fetched goal because he was a phenomenon. But they achieved it and became the GOAT because of their singing and songwriting. And they were witty and funny in interviews! Entertaining from the beginning. Amazing band

My favorite part of this video is right at 2:00 - just as they are going to the bridge in "It won't be long" (since you left me....) - There was this glance between John and Paul - John looks over at Paul with this cheeky grin and Paul reacts almost blushingly coy, like a girl getting flirted with....It was just a very short acknowledgement between them - but you could tell how fond they were of each other and how closely they communicated.

They were at the very top by this point. They held the top 4 positions in the American charts while this was being recorded and the following week it would be the top 5.

@@johnp515 Right on. Technically though you proved my point. Lol. At this point I think that they had just gotten back from their first US visitand they would still be going up for another couple three years, i believe

A truly wonderful example of the glory of the early Beatles. I love ALL the 'eras'! if anything I feel that their weakest year was their last 1969. This from my favorite early LP 'With the Beatles'!

I'm an American, and I appreciate seeing "Ready, Steady, Go" for the first time!! With the awesome Beatles, miming included!! Ha! So even in these relatively early days, miming was big in Britain too, eh?

yes, easier for the bands to do when they were spending a lot of time touring already. in august 1966 the musicians union banned miming on bbc shows (i think itv/granada banned it earlier in march). this was actually a very controversial decision and was publicly criticised by groups because it was 1) taxing on them with their already busy schedules and 2) becoming increasingly more difficult as pop music was developing and becoming more complex. they quickly revised it so that only the singing had to be live. this continued until the early 80s

Whole lotta lip syncin goin on. Talk about payin yer dues! Now this is still, no, it's timelessly exciting. Aside from, well next to, their terrific music, the thing about the Beatles was their talent for bringing everybody in, and making us all smile SO MUCH just seeing and listening to them. Great example here, thank you!
