The Beatrice Nebraska Hail storm

In Indiana we commonly receive hail during the spring and summer months. This past winter season though there was a hail storm mixed in with sleet and ice in my area. It was like watching 3 separate weather events combined simultaneously. I have lived in Indiana since April of 1974 and had never witnessed anything like that.

I came across a massive Hailstorm video, from back in 2012. The hail was literally several inches deep...and it almost looked like snow. This guy that was making the video, said:"An hour ago, I was mowing the Lawn"! He had to be absolutely shell-shocked, as to how much Hail that had fallen...and the Hailstorm had only lasted less than half an hour, or so. Just...WOW!!!

i darted out and grabbed a 3 inch stone from my front yard, but i know there had to have been larger that i just couldn't safely get to.

I've read the Bible quite a few times, and there's a Plague that's mentioned in the Book of Revelation, called the Plague of Hail. The size of those Hailstones, though, are huge, compared to what we witnessed in this video. It mentions of the weight of the Hailstones in that particular Plague being a talent. I did a check, and was absolutely dumb-founded! As in:Mind Blown!!! The weight, in our Language, is equivalent to at least 70 Pounds! Some sources say that the weight on one of those Hailstones being 120 Pounds! Imagine something like that, hitting a person. It would quite literally turn that unfortunate victim into a bloody, gory pulp of what used to be a Human Being!

Lots of roof & car damage, thankfully the hail wasn't wind driven like it could have been. Other parts of Beatrice that had major siding damage had the wind driven stuff.

Imagine, if you will, being struck in the head with something the size of a Softball...only it's a huge chunk of Ice, moving from Cloud to Ground...at something like 120 Miles Per Hour. That would definitely be moving fast enough to literally smash your Skull, and possibly kill you, instantly! It goes without saying...but if you experience Hailstones that big...get to the nearest shelter-FAST!

Was there a confirmed tornado on the ground or was it only radar indicated?

No confirmed tornado in Beatrice. There was two reports of confirmed tornadoes South of Beatrice. One tornado reported near Wymore, another reported near blue springs.
