I can't say enough about the one and only GARBO. I have worshipped her ever since I first laid eyes on her and cant get enough of her. I highly recommend all other worshippers to watch A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS. It is some of her finest work and a very controversial movie at the time. The beauty and the mystery of her is still alive and will live on forever.

In Ava Gardners memoirs, she describes Garbo (past 45) as the most beautiful woman she had seen, with gorgeous shoulders and breasts. You hear a lot about her face, but Ava was stunned by her body. Lauren Bacall gasped when she met her (after Garbos career was over). Bacalls words: "I looked into the most incredible face ever seen by man..." But it's her incredible charisma that get's you. Noone ever made such an impression.....

Dubbel that was pretty high praise indeed coming from Ava and Lauren who also had beauty and charisma to spare. I absolutely love Greta Garbo and have all of her movies either on dvd or vhs. Wish they would put all the silent ones out on dvd soon.

Perfetta ..e il suo carattere riservato ne ha fatto d lei " la divina".. Penso che sia stata una donna che , portava dentro d se il dolore della morte del padre e la paura della povertà ( suo padre morì perché non poteva pagarsi le cure mediche) . Credo che l' unico vero amore sia stato il primo attore con cui ha recitato. Poi , la frequentazione con l' ambiente omosessuale , abbiano confuso il suo orientamento sessuale e femminile. Forse , amando le altre donne, riusciva ad amare se stessa. Naturalmente è una mia opinione. Poi ,trovare una grande , che non amava la superficialità e l' ostentazione di Hollywood , è una cosa che la rende più ' unica ". Resta x me un mistero il vero motivo x cui lasciò la recitazione. Avrebbe potuto continuare a recitare , pur continuando a vivere in modo riservato la sua vita.
