I'm not a horn expert, but I generally can hear a difference between a real Nathan or Leslie train horn vs. something else that is claimed to be a "train" horn. To me, that sounded like a Leslie, like something that the Santa Fe Railway (and quite a few other roads) used to use.

@@IceFoxTrainSpotting Man, I would wet my pants if I could have an EMD bell hidden on my truck (2016 RAM 2500). That is a sound that isn't overpowering like most train horns can be. And not every person out there can ring a classy bell.

I'm putting these up in the order that I shot them...and you can see it getting progressively darker as we go. I think I've got enough clips for 2 more videos. Hopefully they don't get too dark. I haven't looked at that footage yet since I shot it. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again bud!

Detroit?

Scotty, you need to open an auto detailing supply shop somewhere near there! You could make a fortune in one weekend. They have to be buying polish and wax by the barrel.

Good idea, Jimmy! Set up a trailer full of all the goodies at the gate...could travel around to all the shows and get tons more video of all of these sweet rigs.

At .30, why on earthwould you want a draw bar that long?
@espeescotty5 жыл бұрын
It needs to be that long so that the truck can back over it as it sits on the ground to transfer the box on the trailer into the box on the bed. To get a better understanding of this system, checkout my video "Transfer Dump Race: The Complete Run".

That Freightliner and the fire truck were RIGHT! I think the old green Chevy was a re-power though. Blast it, Scotty, you sure can take some fine videos!
@espeescotty6 жыл бұрын
Yup, I thought you'd pick out that Detroit power. Unfortunately I never did get a close-up look at the old Chevy/GMC. I'd guess it is a repower too, but not sure which kind of Detroit lurking inside. I'm just guessing a 53-series, as those are pretty popular in smaller trucks like that one.

I couldn't really tell with the Chevy. Didn't necessarily sound like a bus motor to me but maybe my ears were set wrong. I started to think the Freightliner was a 12-V but maybe an 8. The fire truck was definitely an 8.Hard to tell how many pistons sometimes but never hard to tell they're firing every time they top out!
@espeescotty6 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly...easy to tell when they're firing on every downstroke. The Freightliner was an 8V92...I've seen it before and there are some other videos here on KZbin showcasing that truck and it's owner, Kevin Young. He's a big 2-stroke DD supporter and fan. Search out some of those videos.
