Don't you drive to Palakkad nowadays, like you used to do when you had the Polo?

No. Very rarely do I take the car now.

@@GaneshBalanmay I ask why, as you've been a car enthusiast. Are the roads bad or more accident prone or something?

@InTheCircl 1. The enthusiasm to drive cars died after the Polo left. While I do take my Jazz with friends and family to the odd locations, it doesn’t enthuse like the Polo did. 2. Road conditions - The roads from Chennai to Krishnagiri are being renovated and many flyovers are being constructed. I hear it’s the same near Salem as well. 3. Time and energy - I lose a lot of time driving over 10 hours which I can use to spend with my family at home. Plus, with trains, I can take a night train, depart in the evening, get a good night’s sleep and reach the destination in the morning fresh after a reasonably good sleep. 4. Cost - If I were to drive solo today, with a petrol car that averages 15-16 kmpl, I would be spending around Rs 7.5-8k just for the round trip including tolls. If I have 3 friends in tow like we did once, the charges can be shared and that makes it lighter on the wallet.
