Great insight! It is crazy how much of an effect the octave jumps have. It even works on piano and is comparably simple to implement.

That pivot, octave displacement makes the lines happen, makes it interesting and surprising. One simple bebop trick....I'm still in awe. Love it

Great video. It makes sense that Charlie, being a woodwind player, would come up with this. Pivoting keeps him playing in his sweet spot and not getting to high or low on his horn. A piano player would be much less focused on that. Very cool.

So true so true. What I really dig about this is the lines you get out of it. And when taken into modern jazz the pivots get super extreme. I really dig the sound. Thank you so much for commenting. :)

Hvorfor er Søren Ballegaard ikke en kendt saxofonist?

I do not know, he did not practice enough, or did some other things. Maybe I will be one day :) There are lot of great saxophone players out there. Hov skrev på Engelsk til dig. Er ved at bygge karriere op i DK nu, har boet i NL i 22år. Så DK here I come

I really try, but I cant. What some has suggested is press the slow down button on youtube 75% play speed. And you can always get the lesson manual on Patreon www.patreon.com/posts/82887376 Good luck, I still hope you can use the videos to get some great practice out of it! have a nice one

@@sorenballegaardmusic i agree, the lesson and the material is top notch! but some of us could use a slower delivery of the ideas, we all know we can slow down videos with the speed option, but i think its not only to speak slower but to stay a little bit more on each idea, just an opinion from a fellow subscriber! please keep doing what you do, i like your style!

Lol I who said you need a guitar teacher to learn. You don’t, and I know how and what Coltrane, and Davis we’re playing in-depth. Works on guitar. Shapes . Shapes like triangles and squares lol no circles. That’s to much, the shapes are almost always just arpeggios four note one to if u here a guitarist say playing shapes. Idk why they can’t just say shapes turn out to be arpeggios. Other wise u just play a shape and ok what u doing? U don’t know? Give me that damn
