It's not just about pitch, though. There must be thousands of songs in the key of Hollaback Girl. The real genius is spotting what goes with what. And it's not just about the beat and tempo, but also lyrical content, attitude of the songs and how well the instruments and the singer's voice blend together with that of a different song. Some people just take 2 songs with the same key and FORCE them together. And that's a big no-no. Putting two completely unrelated songs together in a way that feels natural and obvious, that's a real art.
