I'm quietly obsessed with the Before trilogy and so I find my self watching a lot of content on KZbin about these wonderful films. Have to say your editing and construction of this short is excellent - brilliantly done.

I appreciate I love man. I am also obsessed with the before trilogy. I’ve been watching a lot of interviews with the actors and the director. The process for how they made these movies is so personal an intriguing.

I love this little reminder of these 3 beautiful films. It's so bittersweet because we are not getting another chapter. I was waiting, desperately hoping we'd see one appear this year but sadly, no. I only hope the don't abandon the idea of ever revisiting Celine and Jesse. I'd love to know what their up to.

Yeah I feel the same way but according to the director he sees these films as a little three part story and doesn’t want to revisit it unless they are very old. Which is as someone who loves these films is a bit of a bummer but I’m still holding out hope for a movie in which they come back.

The best part of this trilogy is how its reflective of basically everyone’s romanticism and how its so optimistically naive before developing and maturing into a more realistic state… before realising that maturity was nothing more than deterioration. And it happens to everyone. There are very few people who can stay together because no one can fix themselves, let alone their relationship that was worn out long ago and yet required to continue by some documents you signed however many years ago. Ramble over, this video is perfect at showing that. Usually I’m not so interested in the slow, quiet video edits. I used to be all for them but I feel my attention span has sort of dissipated and I’m more into something with a bit more umph to it. But seeing this video was just something incredible. Truly you have demonstrated such a passionate understanding and love for these movies, showcasing everything you find so deeply moving and symbolic. The dialogue choices were perfect as you went for a lot of things that really connected, whether it be perfectly paralleled lines or lines that directly contradict each other - which just added to such a tragedy. And the fact you left it on such a somber note rather than acknowledging the slight glimmer of hope at the end of Before Midnight just ripped my heart in two. I truly felt so blue watching this video and THAT IS A SIGN YOU DID VERY VERY WELL. Thanks for upsetting me.. this was perfect.

I gotta say it’s nice seeing someone share the same passion for these films as I have. Though, at the same time interpret it in a different way. I disagree that maturity is only deterioration I think it is actually the opposite. It might be the romantic in me but I think people can improve/ “fix”themselves drastically over the course of a relationship or lifetime. But I will say you really did nail a lot the points I was trying to make. I wanted to point out the fact even if the characters don’t know it, they often do things that contradict their main motivations. In regards to what you said I’m am the same way about slow edits. I rarely watch them now a days. But I appreciate you putting the time into mine.

@@UntoldAudio I suppose I’m not too big on romance anyway so I’m a little more pessimistic 😂 still, very good job of representing these films. I’ll most likely watch this again later

In my head I'm thinking 5 minutes is no where near enough for a decent montage. But God damn its edited so well and I always forget how much I love this trilogy.
@UntoldAudio2 жыл бұрын
Yeah 5 minutes for these three movies are definitely not enough, but tbh neither is three hours lol. Thanks for the compliment man.

Beautiful edit for a beautiful trilogy. One of my most favorite quotes, “The answer must be in the attempt.” Thank you for sharing this edit.
@UntoldAudio2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you’re right I definitely missed out on that quote. There were so many great lines that I just sadly couldn’t put in. With movies like these it’s almost impossible to capture it all in a small video like mine.
@robynlynnellebaker4962 жыл бұрын
@@UntoldAudio still it was wonderful. Plus, you reminded me of: “You want true love? Well, this is it. It’s not perfect, but it’s real.” I love that line too.

Thanks, it always makes me happy to see people enjoying the video as much as I do. I’m curious though, what were some of your favorite parallels?

@@UntoldAudio”admitting they never really loved their spouse” cutting to the post fight scene got me, and i’ve always loved “i fucked up my whole life because of the way you sing”, and the way you cut from a waltz for a night to that line was perfect (:

You know, it’s funny because my favorite part is also the “never really loved their spouse.” When I hear him say, “like their whole lives have been sucked up into a vacuum cleaner.” Then It cuts to him sitting in the chair looking dejected, it always hits me.

This trilogy here is special, what a amazing edit. Thank you Also just watched you’re video of Call me by your name. Please continue to make videos like that and this one. Emotional films are you’re thing, you put out the emotions and story so good with the combination of music. I hope that you will make movies or shows like aftersun or Normal people etc, truly Talented in showing so much yet with little shots. Like we say here in Brussels, merci beaucoup pour tout

Hey, I appreciate you watching my videos. My emotional videos are often the closest to my heart. They are usually the hardest to do though. Because it can feel impossible to properly capture what I love about the films, while also making the video engaging. In the future I will definitely keep working on them. I haven’t seen those movies/ shows you recommend so I wouldn’t expect to see those anytime soon, but I’ll check them out.

Hey I really appreciate it. I tired to squeeze 3 movies that I greatly respect into a 5 minute video. Things tend to get lost in translation. I’m happy I was able to capture what you loved though.
