I mean they literally believe the emperor wanted to give them the galaxy as their manifest destiny and that aliens and chaos pollute what is rightfully theirs? They think it’s a sin to worship their own knowledge (like said in the video) because the only right path is the worship of the God emperor. They believe ancient humanity was wrong because they created machines that could think on their own, they believe ancient humanity was wrong because they believed in their own glory and not the emperors. Your narration here sounds like a cardinal from the vatican. My favorite part of 40k is the warning of mankinds assent followed by a brutal fall. I feel the true shame of the Imperium is that after the Emperor lifted us from that dark time we fell into it agian after he was seated on the golden thone and haven't even try'd to get back up. You will always fall down, but only because you rose up to begin with. Very soul touching work!
