Some of the songs my dad; Hank Doell, also known as artist Jerry Doell, wrote are; Since God Drew Me, Lord Help Me Stand, That Which God Hath Joined Together, In Heaven, The Raindrops fell on The Seventh Day, When I Think about The Cross, One Day We’ll Rest, His Banner Over Me is Love, Stepping Stone, It Was My Lord That Set my Soul at Ease, God’s Spirit Won’t Always Dwell With Men, Only One God, Light Of The Hour, Day Star Has Risen in My Heart, Seven Stars, We’ll Life’s Road, I Sent Faith A Man With The Spirit of Elijah, Crying Travailing, There Is Inly Me, and his last song written In His Presence, and many others more.

My dad was in Hollywood singing with His band called the Tree Tops 1950’s through till 1960’s before God drew him. He had met Loretta Lynn who really liked my dad’s voice and the sound of his band back then and wanted him to sing with her. He’d written and recorded various songs with ZERO record label, president Don Grashey He interacted with other great artists of this world at that time. The Tree Top song and Fastest Gun were some of his popular songs . Was up for an interview on the Ed Sullivan show. He always had that calling to sing so being blessed with his talented brothers, sisters and cousins, back home he had great joy in forming a band, called the “Believers”, coming together to sing and recording many records, tapes and CD’s. More songs Hank Doell wrote were; God Hates Sin, I Couldn’t Go Back, Till He Calls For Me, When I Wake Up, Life Story, Except for His Grace, Getting Weary, Great Magnet, Such Love, O’PrePare Today, When I Think a about The Cross, Are You Ready, I’m Not Worthy, Dear One, The Messenger That Came, How Can Two Walk Together, I Believe it Won’t Be Long and more... he didn’t stop singing and recording just changed genres, had played bass violin prior continuing to play violin and Acoustic guitar and singing lead vocals as well as harmony. Im proud to be his daughter, much of my musical inspiration comes from him. Having started writing songs in my 30’s and now again over a dozen gospel songs around my life story, that I’ve just began singing and recording and writing more and more. This musical journey of the Doell’s started with my Grandma and Grandpa Doell singing with their kids and for my dad, my grandpa going out to buy my him a guitar after he realized that’s what he loved to do, play the guitar and sing. He was truly blessed to be able to do so with his family, whom all have had their own unique musical talents to share. We don’t do it for fame and fortune but for the love of it and for the Glory of God although I like what Dolly Parton said; “I’m not beneath earning money.” Haha!

I was kind of taken back when Menno mentions brother John Doell- my Dad is also John Doell - and to the best of my knowledge we are related. He also grew up close to Gruenthal.
