Based on the previews, I think Isaiah will suspect Michael was given digitalis given what happened to Dex and Sam while they were in hospital. If they administer DigiFab or Digibind quickly enough, it can reverse the effects of digitalis poisoning. Michael could still live but would probably need to be moved to another facility eventually for his safety, and that could help explain his extended absence from the show.

I like your idea, and what if Cyrus gets caught with his last target after Michael, he needs to be stopped and you wouldn't want Jason to catch him, because Cyrus will be quickly taken care of, if not by Jason then probably someone unsuspecting like one of the guards.

I think it's just the continuation of the sociopathic narcissist and God complex Cyrus has always had. He was a drug dealer but wanted prestige of "saving lives" by becoming head of GH. Got caught and sent to prison where he pretended he was saved and born again to have a good rep. Continues having access to vulnerable people in hospitals and he decides what happens to them. Pretending he is doing God's work, but it is just him wanting to control everything like usual. He is a very sick and twisted person. I think many people in PC do not buy his so called reform. It makes no sense to me why Portia ever agreed to let him in the hospital to volunteer to begin with. I don't remember the justification they had for that, but it was not convincing
