The Belmarsh Tribunal D.C. - "Free the Truth" - The Case of Julian Assange

On December 9, 2023, the Belmarsh Tribunal will return to Washington, D.C., for its most urgent session since its launch in 2020. The Tribunal calls for the release of WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange as his potential extradition from the U.K. to the U.S. reaches its denouement with his final U.K. court hearing expected in early 2024.
Inspired by the Russell-Sartre Tribunals of the Vietnam War, the Belmarsh Tribunal brings together a range of expert witnesses - from constitutional lawyers to acclaimed journalists and human rights defenders - to present evidence of the assault on press freedom and the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
This D.C. sitting of the Tribunal will be co-chaired by Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman and The Intercept's Ryan Grim.

The Guardian published parts of the leaked papers .Wiki leaks must have carefully considered which outlet it would intrust with the information. The Guardian massively benefited from the news being given to them on a platter. After his arrest the Guardian slowly distanced themselves from him and his allies at one stage not giving him any coverage at all to then abandon him all together. I used to be an avid reader and subscriber of the Guardian, getting regular updates and campaign info from Catherine Viner the editor at the time .I mailed her several times about the lack of support for JA ,with no reply at the same time they ended the comments section of the Guardian. Think their treatment of him a fellow journalist is disgraceful. Hence no more Scott Group and Guardian support from me .
