I just had Cedar Eaters clear part of my land out by Junction, TX. Roger and crew did an amazing job. It is like a whole new property. The mulch is fine enough to drive right over even with highway tires. The hand crew worked really hard cleaning up the oaks and all the surgical cuts around the buildings. Those guys must have walked 10 miles in one day doing all the hand cutting and dragging the cut material around for the machine to mulch up. Definitely will have them out again to clear fence lines.

My family owns land outside of junction in roosevelt tx (+/- 500 acres) and is looking for a cedar clearing solution. The property owner had considered buying a skid steer with the mulching attachment and doing it himself. Surely you can give a price range per acre, depending on flat terrain versus hilly.. Or is is billed by the hour?

What happens when you hit rock with the machine? Looks like it won't work in certain parts of the Hill Country that have rocky steep slopes

Dear Mr. McNair, Rock is definitely a factor to be considered. Typically speaking, on most rocky terrain in the hill country, we do a "coarse grind" instead of back-dragging over and over which can damage the teeth on the machine. We grind down to just above the level of the rock. We can also "grub" cedars that are on extremely rocky soil using our excavator or even use a hand crew to cut the vegetation and drag it to an area that the mulcher can more easily reach. Except cedar wont come back from a stump. As long as a cedar is cut off down below the lowest limb it is done, it does not come back.
