I attended seminary and we had over a dozen different denominations there and we were all taught the fundamentals of Christianity. There really aren't that many differences between the churches and in delivering a common sermon, they would all sound nearly exactly the same across all denominations. It is the autonomy of the independent church, that keeps it safe from a hierarchy that once it goes corrupt, drags the rest down with it. This is the wisdom of the American founders, who built into the system, not just a layer of limitations, but autonomous states, designed to ensure that once the federal government becomes corrupt, it can't bring the rest of the nation down with it, without it openly performing an illegal coup and revolution.
