So much things to see and do in Berlin. I've been there twice. There're a lot of historical sights and great restaurants. Really wanna go back again..

Agreed! Berlin is such an interesting city, so many layers of history

THE Best city in the WORLD! None above, no one beside!

Yours is the ONLY channel that has ever talked about the SMELL of a city, that's awesome. thanks for that.

Absolutely! I've always been curious about what it would smell like when imagining myself in different places around the world, which is why it's so important to me to describe that to you in my videos

I'm apparently live tweeting while watching haha. I used to live at the corner of Warschauer Str. and Karl Marx Allee right where you were. I love the area. Karl Marx Allee used to be Called Stalinallee, and was the showcase boulevard of East Berlin. I really really enjoy your use of senses. It's unique and makes this very interesting. Your pronunciation is definition fun for me. I will give you all the credit for trying haha 😊If you ever get a chance to come back, send me a message and maybe we can do a collab and I can show you MY Berlin :)

The e in Mitte isn't silent 😊. Think middle. Mit in German means "with". Very nice video! I love the idea of this video. Sensory history is pretty popular now.

Ah, interesting! I have to admit, German has been one of those languages that I've really struggled with pronunciations on. Blame it on that good old American education system haha.

1:00 That's perfectly normal dressed. I've even seen people in Berlin on the tram wearing pyjamas and nobody cared.

That's what I like about Berlin. There are so many capitals in Europe where dressing too casually in public will get you some weird looks

The Berlin Dom is just a post war repair. The Dom was much more pompous before the war. :o(

I can only imagine the pre-war dome - even post-war, it's spectacular!

Let's not call the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe the Holocaust Memorial. There are numerous memorials in Berlin to the various groups who suffered genocide under the regime. By labeling the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe THE Holocaust memorial minimized the suffering of these other group 😊

It’s pronounced MIT-TA

Thumbs up. Try to pronounce German words correctly. Mitte, not Mitt. Look up Nikolaiviertel! (Fiirtel!).

Thanks! And yes, I've had a particularly rough time on this channel with German pronounciations. One of the downsides of solo travel is having no one to correct you on the spot!

I am sorry, but what you said of Karl Marx Straße is just wrong.

Happens to the best of us! I am by no means a Berlin expert, just a visitor - happy to become more educated though!
