I have that sometimes, usually it is solved easily. Put it on standby, turn the master to 0, then slowly put it to the power mode you want, then slowly turn up the master volume.
@LovinMusic1965 Жыл бұрын
Ive added an EP booster, the older or original model, and a outboard cheaper compressor from amazon. I use the gain at 12 oclock, volume at 2, and use the master accordingly at 25 watts. The EP boost puts amp where i want for the Country twang, and then add a drive tone with the variation button. I like the EP boost better than i imagined, and for a littke more drive i have the mini nobels.

I reset my 100w mk1 recently. The other guitarist in my band was having trouble with the footswitch for his old marshall. He talked me into letting him plug it into my katana to see if the footswitch lights would come on. I reluctantly said yes, plugged it in. The footswitch seemed to work, so he was happy, but my katana seemed to sound darker/muffled, which i wasnt happy about. I did a few searches online and found out about doing a reset. It worked thankfully 👍🏼☺️

Juca, I had the problem with the amp cutting out too. I also suspected the wattage switch because it would pop and fiddling with it would sometimes lead to sound coming back. However, I finally definitively identified the real issue: the speaker jack in the back of the amp was a bit loose. Touching the cable would bring back the sound every time. I tightened the jack and it now works again. Hope this helps.

Good advice. It is disappointing what you mentioned about buying a new one being cheaper than repairing one. Please ask BOSS/Roland about this, like if there'll be any options for repairs. I'm glad I don't need that!

I had this problem one time with my Artist combo. What I found was without the GFAC the amp doesn't know where it is. Plug in your GFAC and rock on. You can also reset the volume by turning the master down to zero and then turn it back up to where ever you want it if your cable has a problem or you forget it. It goes into a protection mode and will not make any sound until you turn it all the way down. No reset or anything for me. I gig my Artist regularly and LOVE it. I'm done with heavy tube amps and marshall can kiss my arse....REALLY poor support. The Katana MkII with GFAC gives you 8 patches on stage. Best amp I've ever gigged so far. My ONLY issue is with the wah pedal on the GFAC you can't turn to wah on and off. It stays in wah.

for me i use an artist with gain volume bass mids trebble precence at straight middle settings, vintage cab, with an overdrive always on, ( 0gain +23 bottom 75 volume - this happend if u change the overdrive with the amps booster knob and turn it to 1% down) this booster sound near like an waza super overdrive, wich i use sometime. i recommend to set 0 gain 75 volume and try every booster from the software. u find a good feeling for sure. changing between brown and lead works verry good for metal stuff. i add delay for leads. if u like go to tone studio and add a noisegate. (if u dont like a ns activate it and set it to 0 -0 for quit some chhh from the amp if u stop playing. this is after long "finding the perfect sound" my mostly used setting.

Hi Juca. I am a bit confused about how after the amp reset, this new sound this may have effected the eq settings in your patches. ie I have already purchsed a few of your patches, but are you saying the eq settings in these patches are wrong or not needed? Should I be changing these eq settings or are the original ones ok?
@JucaNeryGuitar Жыл бұрын
No, not wrong at all, they are needed. It simply sounds better after a few more tests I've made. No need to touch anything apart from the physical buttons on the amp to adjust to taste. Cheers

I think you were just accustomed and got used to using lots of EQ's that now having less or none sounds better. Tastes and preference through experiences and lessons learned I believe contributed to that. The Boss Katana straight from the factory the first time I used it sounded great. The options (with BTS) it gave us probably has something to do with "overtweaking" it BUT it was GREAT from the get go I have 2 Katanas 1 for recording (I only update it when there is an update) and another one that I use for live ( It never gets an update). They both sound good and identical specially on the PANEL clean setting (The one I that use the most) because it was the sound and headroom that I fell in love with it - They work so good with pedals in front of it. ;) PS. Honestly the updated TONE EQ Setting I never use it, to my style and preference I never understood it so I just turned it off. A great tonal option nonetheless. Just my take and opinion. Cheers!

I have had two Katana Artists that went back to Boss because the attenuator switch was faulty. The switch itself feels really flimsy. I don’t touch it now - just leave it on the 50w setting and turn the amp on and off. I would pay double the price of the Artist to have a heavy duty well constructed Katana. They are great amps but the build quality is not great. I always take a 50ex as a backup to gigs in case the Artist breaks again. Cmon Boss - bring out a Katana SuperPro!!!

compared old master eq off vs the factory reset with master eq off, it seems identical. this is what i think happened, the master eq & panel are rhe most transparent. the second, third eq & the all channels loose some of the pure analog qualities. you may have just not noticed that previously, took me a few years to detect it.

I've got a bunch of top grade amps I've used professionally for over 40 years including guitars to drool and cry for, I tested the Katana very carefully for a while ( a new 50 was available to me ) it's a great small amp and very usable for live and recording purposes, I personally have replaced my main live units with instead their GT1 into a small silent flat mixer unto a pair of 15'' 2 way full range enclosures and I'm not going back...not ever! I found my Holy Grail tone after about a fortnight of very careful tweaking under the right conditions with the right axe for my styles played, I know I've got it right because my GT1 is under lock and key and wraps when live and in the studio and I'm often asked to reveal my tweaks by other players...my answer is....winners are grinners, sorry, -bite ya bum. 😎
