Does anyone else agree that people in Indonesia are actually like the friendliest ever?! We met the most amazing guides on this day trip! Freddy from the boat was so informative. Our guide at Komodo Park even took our phones and started recording. Most of the footage of the dragons is thanks to him! Also side note: Komodo Dragons are carnivores and can be dangerous and Sarah was actually pretty scared. We did NOT get close to them, but our guide and many others on tours around us did. Please do not get too close or TOUCH (which you may be encouraged to do) a Komodo Dragon - they are wild, and there are less than 3,500 left in the world! Keep your distance.

We unfortunately formatted our SD card and lost all of our 4K drone footage (actually we lost some audio too due to mic failure, sad day), but thankfully we were able to recover some low-res videos! We use the DJI Mini 4 Pro and love it. FYI - if you plan to fly your drone in Komodo National Park, you will need to apply at least three days in advance for a permit.

If you're new here, we're Sarah and Gerhard! We're a recently married couple from British Columbia, Canada. We've been together for almost a decade and it hasn't been anything short of an adventure - from a 37-day train trip across Canada where all we could afford to eat was PB&Js to sipping champagne at the world-famous Moulin Rouge cabaret show in Paris.
