The saved food as of now is equal to 1 villager on food per working TC. So if you have two TCs producing, you need 2 less vills on food than other civs to maintain that production. This is why the change is big, you get it instantly and the extra resources are equivalent to an upgrade by the time you get to the second TC. And from there on, it balloons further. Those two vills on gold will get you more eco upgrades which make your eco even faster.

I personally like 7 on food, 3 on gold, 8th builds the house of wisdom and then goes to food, I usually have exactly enough resources to age up then when it finishes because the first seven always go to berries, and only 2 of them actually build the mill

Why do you say it's exponential to have 1 additional villager? Isn't the scaling of the economy quadratic with respect to villager count?

I think it's because 10-13 resources per vill can make the difference between tech ups, timing attacks, and resource collection

In non math contexts, English speakers often say "exponential" when they just mean better than linear.

@@ETheeb That still doesn't make sense. Economy scales per worker. Each worker generates a fixed number of resources per minute. Therefore, if your economy has N workers working for T minutes gaining R resources per minute, you gain E=N*T*R resources after T minutes. But your economy also grows with worker count. The count scales 3 workers per minute + 6 initial workers. So at time T you should have N = 6 + 3T workers at time T assuming constant villager production. Putting N into the economy calculation you get: E = 6R*T + 3R*T^2 So therefore your economic income depends on 2 main factors assuming constant villager production. The resources gained per worker (depends on upgrades), and total time played. But this scales quadratically with total time played. This also implies that if everything is kept the same, but one player has 1 additional villager. The player with the extra villager has linearly more resources compared to the other player. The difference is approximately R * T *D where D is the difference between villager counts and T is the amount of time where the difference exists.

To avoid stream sniping and to avoid players ganging up on them in FFAs. The FFA scene in particular had seen a lot of them getting teamed up against when using their own names. Basically everyone loses their shit and starts targeting the pros instead of trying to play their own game. It goes almost as far as grieifing where certain players are willing to lose themselves just to ensure the pro loses.

@@Daniel_deez_nutz Yes and No. The issue is some players don't even try to win the game for themselves. They go all-in against the pro so they die with the pro. That's not fun for them nor the pro. Either way, the pros do what they must to anonymize themselves.
