I'm back! :)
The eleventh compilation of some of the best acting scenes and/or performances of all time. I know there are many missing, it's just a glimpse. Also, it is a subjective list, I don't claim it to be objectively correct, if there's such a thing.
Films and actors/actresses in chronological order:
Valerie Pachner & August Diehl - A Hidden Life
Al Pacino & Joe Pesci - The Irishman
Steve Carell - The Office
Timothée Chalamet - Call Me by Your Name
Daniel Day-Lewis & Vicky Krieps - Phantom Thread
Erland Josephson - The Sacrifice

I wonder what Chalamet was thinking about as he cried. I reckon you’d need some real inner demons to be able to weep on demand like that, to put yourself in that frame of mind.
@MVG101
@MVG101 3 жыл бұрын
apparently he had an earpiece that was playing the same song you hear in the scene, which can sometimes be enough to put you in the right state of mind to be able to weep for a scene.

I truly love the series of clips you have produced over the years Mr. Sitiossanguinem - Thankyou for your efforts! At the same time it has always irked me that you've labelled the series 'the best ACTING ...'. I am (fairly} sure that you are aware that you have compiled a selection of great SCENES rather than acting per se (and that in all honesty some of those scenes only required merely competent acting to ensure there success).

These scenes is ment to be played out to reflect and portrait their character as if it was reality. They achive acting but not quite as fitting to the role they ought to play. This is more like theater, it has been overpolished so much so that it ends up and becomes artificial rather than to play/portrait a role which would actually exist in the real world. If you look closely at this scenes, have you ever seen or could you ever imagen that you would see a person act like these actors that play these character do? They act like they have the feelings they show, but it is all learnt-in play. But in most of the scenes it they are overacting so it becomes almost robotic, you can feel how learn-in their lines are and how many times they have seen, imagened and played that scene before the final take. It is overdramatic, carefully thought out beforehand to maximize the intensity of drama, and it is all cool and dandy in an art way. But if it is ment to reflect real-life situations, then they do a poor job. If they were to make it more believable in the right direction, then they would add more humanity, be more down to earth and casual. They could stumble on their words, vary the depth in their expressions and rythm of talking, and not be so stiff and rigid, be more relaxed and rove about with their glance, be more human so to say in a simple but loose way. They focus so much on the one thing the scene is about so that they make the scene so artificial. Have other stuff that happens in the scene that has no real substance to the story, but which still adds so much value and depth to the scene. Have a nice car drive by on the street which draws attention, a dog that barks, a breeze that causes someone to pick on their jacket and what not... like simple ordinary everyday stuff, it will make the scenes so much more alive and real, instead of focusing so hard on the one thing that matters for the story. Take the movie Twelve Angry Men for example, they sneeze, light cigarettes, stretch out, check the clock, smalchat in the background and all sort of things that makes the scene so much more believable than if they solely were to focus on the one thing that matters for the story. They are doing it pretty well acting roles in situations that we as persons could actually identify ourselves in.

 @Utkarsh Pandey But why? All of those clips are good acting, sure. But the acting is not real and genuine in the sense that it portraits and acts out a senario that depicts reality. Instead, the acting we see in this video is quite so overdramatic and overpolished to such a degree that the acting strives away from reality itself, and it becomes theater. A play where they in evrey way possible try to maximize and enhance the drama and the feelings their act emits in the scene. It falls away from what makes the act humanly, it just does not feel very genuine and spontaneous, and instead rather scripted because it just tries too hard. It is all just too overkill to depict reality basically, it becomes something other than reality. The best one is at 7:02, it is still scripted though, it does not fool the audience, but here the actors try to act in a human way atleast. It is by far the best one. Now, if you really want to see something that is much more real and genuine, you ought to watch the 1957 movie called: 12 Angry Men ...then we can talk acting. Still a movie, so sure it is scripted but jeez that one almost fools you. You could just as well have been there in the room with them. They all act like if it was all real, man, I bet they almost fooled themselves acting that movie out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKLReX2VhrGIa68 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoCZcoWoYsR7nNk

Have I overseen one of the best actresses in the world - Nicole Kidman? Well, never mind, 🇺🇸 should immediately stop making movies - you have no more than 20 good actors, most of them dead or too old to move. The rest repeats one sentence for fifty times until the director says it’s ok or like Cruise simply play themselves in every movie. Stop harassing the world with your productions. Go to Britain to see true ACTORS.
