I've done dozens of randomized lv 50 hard playthroughs, and although i think a few of the placings in your list to be very off, it's basically only when you seem to be unaware of some strategies the characters deliver. So all in all, the points you make in the video make sense and still give people a good idea of where most of the characters stand!

If this is something that you ever feel the need to revisit, I think a tier list within the context of NG+ would be fun. I won't contest Picoletta's placement but I do think she has legitimate strengths that went unaddressed. Ball Toss's friendly fire might seem random but the fact that her decoy does damage on death can actually be fun for setting it off like a remote bomb with Ball Toss. :)

Ahh yes, another one falls for the Picoletta is bad trap. Picoletta is an evasion tank, and her decoy is amazing for kiting units away, I can't count the amount of times her decoy saved my units in deathless. Also you need to use stones to get damage out of Picoletta, she's a lot more useful than people give her credit for, you just have to figure her out. And Flannigan lol. Flannigan is the key to the best comp in the game. Flannigan enables a playstyle where you let the enemy come to you and slowly nuke them down while defending your units.

I feel like I addressed these points in the video lol. You can't control the decoy, feeding Pico stones costs money which is scarce for most of the game, and other characters can evade tank just as well or better while doing more stuff. As for Flan being able to stand there and get hit isn't exclusive to just him lol. "If in choke point with right team on right map" is already a list of criteria to make him good, which is a rabbit hole that can apply to anyone. Not saying you're wrong but this is my experience.

@@ShuffleFM Controlling the Decoy is not an issue, having it leash enemies is crucial to her style, and when the decoy also inherits her evasion it becomes even better. Whenever I had a tough boss like Avlora or someone else I was easily able to kite them away by placing the decoy in a corner of the map, which allowed me to take out weaker units and better position for the boss. I don't really agree that money is scarce as the game lets you arm yourself fairly well if you're willing to grind a bit, I just beat chapter 7 again and I had more than enough stones. Flannigan's usefulness doesn't come from just taking hits, it comes from having such good defense up abilities it allows otherwise squishy units to take hits, plus he has more mobility than most tanks, allowing him to dive in with squishier units. He's also the cornerstone of deathball which is a 5 man team that can still complete the game for you. I don't find any units particularly lacking in this game, just units whose kits are too scattered to have an identity like hossabara or units whose kits don't have a lot of purpose/are not worth the effort to get online like travis.

I still think you're underplaying the inability to control the decoy, but if I ever do another run through I'll give these 2 a lot more time.

@@ShuffleFM Trust me, it got me through all 4 playthroughs on hard. Control isn't has important as you think, it does as its name implies, provides an inconsequential dummy for the enemies to chase after and smack rather than your units.

@@ShuffleFM I agree with NoMoreGamer here, it's not the fact that you can't control the decoy, it's more the fact you can choose where to place it that makes the decoy so valuable. Picoletta on her own is not necessarily worth to bring for stats, but more for the ability to make enemies either waste TP destroying the decoy, waste actions damaging the decoy, or just denying movement or even farming back strikes makes the decoy at minimum fun to use.

Correntin C tier? (Best damage unit in game unironically) Picco C tier? Hard damage carry, more durable than mages hits elemental weakness 6 range climby item spammer with utility. Flanagan literally breaks the game with Ramparts team? 50% Damage reduction to all adjacent for 4 turns and moves with him. Ezana board nuke accuracy boost strat breaks game? S tier You ACC boost her then accelerate her board nuke to stun/spike the entire map with 50-80% hitrate. Freezing 1/3 of those hit breaks enemy formations and cheeses entire maps. Anna can Item spam absurd AOE Damage then dump TP into huge backstab spikes with no downside? Also can break the game with stealth. I covered this game on launch (Over 1k Hours playtime) and there are a ton of strats you are unaware of. Benedict is maybe mid B if you know how to run the units well. He doesn't do enough to justify placing him in top slot. He doesn't even do anything outright game breaking or useful as all he does is enable another unit which could also be accomplished by running another good unit. Shield ability is strictly worse than Ramparts which lets you beat every map with 3-5 units for fun on hard mode. Medina also can NOW someone for 2 TP instead of 3 but also can battery your entire team to steamroll the game.

I would put anna in s tier very early and a in mid game and b tier in end game lvl50's. An upgraded anna first chapters can decimate oponents since there are very few high armored units which makes her act twice suberb. She falls off later cuz she doesnt get aoe, or high damage skills.

She does have deadly blaze though which is a nuke and debuff

@@sdp728 I never even unlocked deadly blaze so i forgot it existed. anyay deadly blaze is a skill no one use or should use. throwing poison twice at enemies or slumber two enemies are always the better option. 4 TP is very expensive and she just has too much else to spend it on. Nothing above 4 TP is worth it apart from Benedict’s Dragon Shied. She becomes a semi support unit later and thats the only redeeming quality for the end game.

Anna is pretty nice early, and deadly blaze can be very good if you don't need Anna using stealth every other turn.

In a vacuum. I don't usually focus on the "in the right comp" idea because there are always ways to make someone OP.

@@ShuffleFM I wouldn't really go for OP as much as how easy or hard it is to get value out of a unit. If they work well with most units or have the ability to elevate units. That's what puts a character like Medina up there who turns into a clutch unit by feeding TP to your team a lot more frequently.

I argue Hossabara can have great value with the right accessories, and using her as a bruiser with support functions instead of a support with damage and movement. Giving her Black Amulet and the guaranteed revive accessory give her enough damage to whack enemies for significant damage while also having enough defense to survive onslaughts with desperate defense given there aren't 5+ enemies capable of hitting her, while also being able to use healing to hold a chokepoint or tag with Roland to bully enemies. Granted, not playing endgame or NG+ skews my opinion some, but even at a minimum, using her to whack enemies with a big stick is very funny and made her worth bringing on most missions.

@@ShuffleFM Black amulet seems underrated because of the damage tick, but it's not enough in most situations to move the needle with desperate defense. Also using Obsidian anklet has been a fun time, gave it to Trish because her abilities aren't necessary unless you're farming, and that gives her enough damage to be self sufficient in most engagements.

She pairs well with the rogue chick and her double action if you position well she can be a great battle healer but you have to beef her tank stats for sure. Tier list are interesting in this game because characters by themselves are fine but a lot of them shine with how they pair with others. Great example of this is Julio, he's kinda meh but if you put him with Gnarve he's S tier.
