I’m curious how many barneteguis are in iparralde? I’d love to do a program like it. Do they have summer day programs for learning basque at ikastolas for adults?

This summer they did have a daytime summer intensive for adults in Hasparren. And they have night classes for adults throughout the regular school year.

@gerald4013
@gerald4013 3 жыл бұрын
J'ai eu une réponse : "Bai, euskara batuan eskualdeko hitzak erabiltzen dira, Iruñean adibidez: ongi, ederki, ortzadar, gabe Gasteizen: ondo, ederto, ostadar, barik. Batzutan, euskara batuarekin ere, nabaritzen da nongoa den bakoitza" autrement dit, même quand les gens parlent en batua, ils peuvent utiliser des mots ou expressions de leur région. Donc dans les faits, il n'y a pas vraiment de vocabulaire standard, apparemment.

Some time ago (probably over a year) I told you I was going to do an AncestryDNA test, and I got back my results today. Turns out I’m 19% Spanish, 6% Portuguese, 2% Basque, 1% Wales, there’s also some Northern African in there; and the rest is indigenous americas.

"The Baschi(literally Basques in Italian)were an influential medieval house that reached its peak in the XV & XVI centuries. The members of this family held over the centuries numerous offices, among which we remember those of captains of the people, Knights of Malta and Rhodes, Podesta and papal generals, Venetians, etc. Some of the most illustrious characters of this house were Bindo De 'Baschi called "Pastacalda", commander of the largest Umbrian Ghibelline league who lost his life during the Battle of Orvieto in 1313 at the age of 27 and Ranuccio de ' Baschi, restorer of the infamous luster and builder of the palace currently the seat of the municipality of Baschi. It also deserves attention the list of the most important families related to the latter, namely the Aldobrandeschi, the Farnese, the Orsini, the Caetani, the Baglioni, the Alviano, the Monaldeschi and the Vitelleschi.The origins of the family are traced back to a nobleman named Ugolino, who lived towards the end of the secolo Later Frederick Barbarossa granted to his descendant, Rainier II, the diploma of Count Of The Empire. Other theories supported by the Orvieto historian Pericles Perali claim instead that the Basques descend from ancient Lombard(real germanics) families, as in the case of the acts and the Marsciano"it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baschi_(famiglia)

No the Basque people are not from the Lombards, they are of a super old lineage and only people to have a language not related to any other language in the area so its not Indo -European and precedes the Indo-European languages, which means it precedes the Lombards. My ancestor was Inigo Arista, the first King of Pamplona, majority of nobles in Spain have him as an ancestor. Anyway, he was a well known Basque to fight various groups who wanted to control them, even the Romans made reference of the Basque because that is how long they had been there. They were and are their own people and have been there in Spain at least since early humans inhabited the Iberian peninsula and parts of France. The whole entire Basque people had what was called Universal Nobility, all Basque people had that privilege and so they never were serfs and never needed to pay taxes at least to the Spanish kings and 4 provinces were granted that nobility by the King of Navarre. As for the French King, well that is something else. I have plenty of ancestors from Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa who went their way to make their stamp on Latin America in the Colonial period.

We are hosting a student from Basque country soon and I would like to make a welcome sign. According to google, this is "ongi etorria". First, does anyone know if this is right, and second, do I need to conjugate or match gender at all, or just use as is? For example, like bienvenido/a? Thanks! Don't want to get off on the wrong foot haha

Hey ! As a northern basque, we do have different accents (and dialects) than southern basques and ot might sound closer to french. It is also the case in urrepel (although it might not sound as french as in some other areas). Euskara is quite different from a province to another !

Do you have French charm, are you from Ipparalda? And another question, do you have a video about Basque stereotypes? Basque stereotypes are not popular in the world, but popular in Spain (terrorists, unapproachable women, etc.) None of them are true, especially about girls, Basque girls are just shy. 🤗
