Honestly, people hate on H&M and stores like that, but Amazon stuff is way worse. CBC Marketplace, a Canadian business channel here on KZbin, looked at Amazon knock offs that were literally toxic! High levels of lead and mercury, often in things like purses and even toys. It's not worth it at all, especially considering that people who are horribly underpaid have to work with these dangerous materials. And for what? Jumping on a trend that will last a month or two?

If I give a sibling a shirt from Amazon does that change the fact that it’s from Amazon and it’s still promoting their business if people ask where they got the shirt from and buy more of the same item. Supporting a business isn’t always directly giving them money.Pretending that thrifting is eliminating that is just another example of green washing. Multiple companies have even started to resell returned items of theirs as “second hand” and promote it as more sustainable and then they go and continue the same production methods. Plus a lot of items from thrift stores end up in landfills or burned. thrifting really isn’t the solution everyone thinks it is. Is thrifting helping? Maybe but it’s doing absolutely nothing in terms of stopping unethical production all its doing is cutting out the middle man who doesn’t care because they’ve already made their profit off the items being resold

The dupe vs. knockoff segment was SPOT ON. It's not even exclusive to fashion, it's happening to small businesses who do ceramics, home decor, and crochet work-just things that take so much time, effort, and craftsmanship. People will find a knockoff and immediately blow it up on Tiktok or something and it's really disappointing to see hundreds if not thousands of sales on the fake's product listing.

thats such a good idea omg. I really think the type of fabric makes a big difference too, vintage ones often have viscose or silk in and hang really nicely but modern ones are often like a cotton polyester blend and have that weird crumpled paper vibe about them

Guys, you just need to find the right shape (I get it's hard but they do exist). You may simply need an oversized unstructured one, and I don't mean any size L, but one made oversize intentionally. Also, button downs have to be good quality and material, otherwise they are very noticeably ugly/not fitting.

Finding a real dupe at the thrift store is so much more rewarding than buying a fake! It also most likely will lead you to finding other great things that you may not even be looking for. Also there’s the whole concept of “saving money” on the fake but you’ll go broke trying to “save money”. i.e. your Amazon “dupes” will fall apart exponentially faster than the original, and you’ll eventually spend the money on the original or keep wasting your money on a replacement of the fake LOL which creates so much waste

I was SUCKED into the converse trend after seeing it online, in person, and also my younger sister has like 6 pairs so I caved and bought myself a pair for my birthday this year, I love them!! I have the Lugged ones in Black/white and they are my go-to shoe now. Laini I loved and agree with all of these, but as a 4’11 tiny gal, I have to say that platforms are my life! LOL however, I do agree that they are not always necessary in every shoe or timeless. Once they’re not trendy, they will look kind of awkward unless they’re part of your personal style and you have always loved them. Also, very much agree about the button downs for us girls who have bigger boobs. I have 4 in my closet that I haven’t worn since I thrifted them… I want to love and style them so much, but I just can’t figure out how to without looking frumpy. I got the Sony whxm... headphones a year ago, so just a few months before they started trending so hardcore, but I love them so much and can't recommend enough. As a college student and a COMMUTER they help me focus so well and are SO comfortable. the pads are leather-y too so I just wipe them off after the gym unlike the apple ones.

To answer your question, I'm not embarrased wearing the Apple headphones bc... they're really good headphones. I don't mind them being expensive, nor do I care how they perceive my headphones since again, they're great headphones, and I've spent more on other shit, particularly fashion items that had far less utility. At face value, like fashion, (ironic enough), the product nearly never justifies the price. It's what you value. You get to flex AND have high quality headphones? Why not? Can't say they're bad headphones, only that there's alternatives. But its just like fashion alternatives. And there's a whole debate about that. To each is own, i fw your channel heavy.

I had THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE BUTTON DOWN! I’m a c/d cup and short, even though I’m a size 4 I look kind of mid size because my face is round. The frumpiness is the SLEEVES. If it’s not drop shoulder or like, too wide at the sleeves you look frumpy. The devil is in that detail, tailor to your liking.

I'm a great fan of platform shoes! The reason for that is I live in Poland which for reference is like living in UK: ITS RAINING ALLLL THE TIME XD What I'm getting at is the purpose of a shoe for me is to protect my foot from the elements. So if I'm walking and suddenly my feet are soaking wet because i accidentally stepped on a puddle then why am I wearing the shoes in the first place?? There's gotta be a platform. Also my workplace is outside of the city so oftentimes I need to walk on mud and slippery grass. I am not wearing platform-less shoes there! Argument 2: If you want to wear any type of shoe for a few years eventually the soles will wear off. If it's a super flat shoe it might not last for as long (unless you only walk into your car and exit to only concrete surfaces) Besides that I really enjoyed the video

I like the low waisted trend not because I wear super low waisted pants (I don’t bc I don’t love how it looks on me) but now I’m trying to find an in between and find the way to wear them that looks best with my body type instead of just automatically going super high waisted

about the airpods max i get it but also I own them and they are just like every other noise cancelling headphones (i used to have these beats by dre for like 5 years previously and then just regular wired earphones) but i dont think its like a status thing, maybe thats just me but i honestly just got them cause they were cute, i liked the look of them and they looked sleek, not an headphones pro nor do i care that much but i had the extra money and needed a new pair, i feel like its the same argument as getting a designer bag. do you need it? no, there are countless of good quality bags for a fraction of the price but you like them and you are fortunate to have the money to buy it so you do.

to be honest, my friend who is an audiophile that does not care about branded stuff says that the $200 noise cancelling headphones is way better than your target $60 one. can't comment on the apple ones tho but it does look good and I heard the sound is pretty good. Its mostly for the amazing aesthetics, but so are designer anything??

Finally somebody who likes lower rise jeans. High waisted jeans are also very uncomfortable to me (constantly get stomach aches from wearing them even if the waist is roomy) and I also just hate the feeling of jeans over my belly.

I'm sorry I can't be the only one who feels this way 😭 I LOVE the way the Adidas Sambas looks but when I finally got them they were the MOST uncomfortable things I every put on my feet! There's no cushion and the upper (leather outer) is sooooo stiff! I know they can break in over time butits so jarring compared t the reebok club c's that feel like a cloud from day 1. *note I'm going to buy a different color way in the vegan leather and see if it's any better

My best tip is to find one in a more flowy material that has a ”v-neck”, like you cant close it all the way up. It creates like a v shape down your chest and ”goes in” between the boobs, making it not look so bulky. I liked that this summer 😊

Laini, someone once gave me the tip to try any clothes that you feel like they don't look good on bigger boobs with those shoulder pads you can attach under your bra straps. Might also work with button downs / blouses, or maybe just try a model that has a 'strong' shoulder. Got the tip from an older lady with a super cool looking style.

Platform samba already exists and it’s been some years, I got mines in 2017, a white pair and a black one, I looove them! But I agree that not everything should be platformed 😂
