I am extremely biased but I agree! I would put ACNH and Wild World in S tier! While the graphics and aesthetic of wild world does throw you off (it did when I first played it, and even more so now) it managed to still capture me with its personality and atmosphere! The music in WW is my FAVORITE, and I loved the villiager interactions so much! Weird as it sounds I also loved the sound design a lot? I loved to run on my wood floors and the stone paths. It was my first AC game so it definitely has nostalgia factor for me, but new leaf just didn’t capture me the same way! I love ACNH for the aesthetics and all the new things you can do!

If we had everything from New Leaf when NH was launched, I’d say New Horizons was the best. Otherwise, it’s New Leaf for me. It introduced so many core features that are just important to the series now, and the welcome amiibo update slapped. Wild World is a close second, I’d even say *that* was number one; if not for the faulting online connection and the fact I had to share my house.

Yeah New Horizons may have some of the best features it's lack of features brings it down a lot. New Leaf had a lot more content. If you aren't a designer then New Horizons doesn't care about you. Unlike other games in the series that focused on every playstyle New Horizons only cares about designers.

I got really burnt out with New Horizons and decided to revisit the original GameCube version. And I have to say, I was in love. The game was so wonderful to play, and it had nothing to do with nostalgia. The villagers were alive, they played sports and everything. I really think it just has such a good spark that newer games couldn't compare to.

That's because the first game was made with love. It was pretty much exactly, what the dev himself had in mind. Living alone without family, paying debts and creating new friendships. Yes, even if it means, that your neighbors aren't the friendliest ones, just like in real life. Even if the first game had the least amount of stuff, it was still a reasonable amount to collect, especially for people who don't have much time. Oh and... NES Games.

JashiPeanut oh I’m aware how random the flower clock was but I have a colour wheel made from flowers on my island so it’d be a nice thing to put in the middle instead of the fountain... so it was fully just for me, I also couldn’t think of anything that hasn’t been turned into an object already. Maybe some of the sculptures or custom stand designs.

i've only played pocket camp and new horizons, for some reason, to someone i know, animal crossing was a way of saying "haha u suck lol u dont play actual real games" but animal crossing is pretty fresh now that i've played it. new horizons is now my second favorite game next to splatoon 2. im really glad i found animal crossing channels to help persuade me into getting the game.

The reason why New Horizons scored lower on my personal list is that many features takes months to come out, or a year or 2, and many features are just copies of New Leaf. Not that's it's really bad, but I'm tired of talking to Sable yet again, getting Redd's art, etc. The wedding thing is new, but for me, it not that interesting, and the Easter thing was so annoying with the eggs all over the place. Don't get me wrong, as I love NH, but it feels like a repeat with better graphics and features I have to wait for.

I absolutely agree with you! Everyone talks about New Leaf and New Horizons forgetting that beautiful video game with amazingly funny and charismatic dialogues and a UNIQUE soundtrack. It's okay that New Leaf is a very good game with a lot to do, but the soundtrack in a video game is very important, it's what over the years you remember and it makes you cry of happiness remembering it with affection, transporting you to the time you played it and were happy. And, being Animal Crossing, also the dialogues, that's why New Leaf is still enjoyable, as time goes by. it hasn't marked you the way Wild World did. I'll never forget that soundtrack at sunset, looking at the sky and enjoying that beautiful landscape, not so beautiful if not for its soundtrack, makes a video game that those of us who play it and love from the heart will always remember it fondly and we will want to replay it over time like me for example

At least when it comes to items, they will hardly beat NL, as the game had 1764 and NH has 807. They are adding like 10 furniture per update and by the looks of it they aren't even going to update every month. They could update it for 5 years and it would still be nowhere near NL's catalogue.

Now when it comes to updates that add features, it seems like they are just copying what New Leaf did but worse. The museum update didn't get exhibits, gift shop nor silver tools. The dream suite lags a lot more, doesn't offer a random visit option and Wendell is nowhere to be seen (at least give the poor guy a new function...). The diving mechanic now has no challenge, as it is impossible for creatures to escape and there are no obstacles anymore, you also swim so slowly you could literally fall asleep pressing A.

I honestly really like Pocket Camp. Sure, the villager interactions are really repetitive, and the events get old after a while. But, the events make it fun. There’s new furniture for every event which can help you customize your campsite and or cabin. It’s a pretty good time waster if you’re bored. I’ve played it while waiting 5 FREAKING HOURS for a blood draw and while I was on long road trips. I’ll probably play it a lot more in the near future…

My problem with New Horizons is that it has virtually no long-term goals like New Leaf did. The day-to-day operations are great but there’s only one Nook’s Cranny upgrade, and so many features that were in New Leaf are missing.

New Leaf is probably the best, but Wild World / City Folk has the best soundtrack. WW/CF had a strong nostalgia vibe to its music, especially at nighttime. I feel like the newer games have shifted more from the nostalgia to a more upbeat/happy 24/7 style.

My favorite is New Leaf. I still play it to this day (there area few badges I wanna get). New Horizons is excellent but we all know it is not complete yet. Maybe when it's complete, it will replace New Leaf as my favorite

I only played nl and nh but nh is way better to me just solely because I don't wanna take a buzzfeed quiz and stand in the sun for 6 hours to get something close to my appearance.

New leaf will always be my favorite. I’d be so happy if the next AC game was nl with a few things from nh like placing furniture outside and paths. Ik this will never happen but 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, this is the perspective of someone who's first animal crossing game was new horizons, and then went back and played the others afterwards. The inventory is a game changer. In ACNH you can make 50k coins in 10 minutes. In ACNL it takes 5 of those minutes just to go and sell your inventory. After experiencing ACNH's expanded inventory I cant play the old ones. It's just not very fun. If they ported New Leaf to the switch with the expanded inventory and with paths, I think that would be my favorite because the outdoor furniture is a bit overwhelming at times, but I can ignore that just because the extra inventory is so good.

I wish all the animal crossing soundtracks were in NH and could make your own list of songs to play throughout the day, and also sometimes I wish I could turn off the music just to enjoy the sound of the wind and rain. 😊 I also want the police station in NH, I miss the GameCube original police station. 😫

As a relitively new fan, I actually would have to go with New Leaf. I was really disappointed with New Horizons; New Leaf just had so much variety, and I personally found New Horizons a little lacking in that regard. I can see why so many people like it, but it just doesn't appeal to me as much unfortunetly. :/

I have a certain nostalgia for wild world I was never able to buy Nintendo products so going to my best friends house, playing on her ds and just asking villagers to meet up to then never do it because it wasn't my ds was just fun With new horizons being the first Nintendo related thing I have ever bought it adds another feeling of happiness Being able to do what I want without asking my friend while still having a certain nostalgia for specific villagers

New Horizons is the only Animal Crossing game I've played, the game is great but I only put one hour into it per day. The only things I do are fish, catch bugs, talk to my villagers only once because of repetitive dialogue, dig up fossils, etc. the only thing in New Horizons that dissapoints me the most are the villagers.

The series itself deserves to be S tier. It is one of the best game series ever. I like every game, even Amiibo Festival.

I...really liked some mechanics introduced in happy home designer. The Best part of that game was definatly the buildings decoration. I loved it! I put my heart in every building I designer the interior of. And it gave me such a satisfaction seeing the animals be there, live their lives! Like, heck yeah I love seeing the villagers enjoy a night at the opera, or seeing them nervous for school, or at work during a meeting. I would absolutely love an updated version for The switch where yes, you can design homes, but you have loads of buildings to design too! And There are polenta of buildings they could make you design! There could be Kicks'shoe shop, the able sisters, Brewster ' s café, Gracie Grace's boutique, Leif's Plant Shop, the nooklings's shop! They could also add things, maybe related to other characters too! Like, an office where Raymond could work with other buisness-related villagers, like, the monkey with weird make - up (can't remember what's her name) could be a secretary and stuff! Maybe, you could befriend the villagers in a building you design, And then they come up with an Idea for a new building!

I play new horizons now but new leaf really changed my gaming personality, I used to spend around 6 hours everyday working on my progess and trying my hardest to make a nice place to live. Before, I used to like the Call of Duty and all that stuff, but when I first played new leaf, it blew my mind. I kinda stopped playing my 3DS around 2019 and decided to focus on my switch. But new leaf will always have a place in my heart. Like if you had the same experience with new leaf :)

Fun fact: In Asia the first animal crossing was actually released earlier on the N64, hence why it looks much older than other GameCube games

I started with Wild World and man, what a beautiful game that was. City Folk was a total "meh" in my opinion. New Leaf was better than WW but it made me really miss touch controls and now that I'm playing New Horizons I can also say that it is gonna be my favorite of them all!

New leaf is my favorite. I love almost every aspect of the game. I enjoyed the public works projects, I love Isabelle, Leif, Reese, Cyrus, Luna, and Digby, I loved the sewing machine, the online play, Tortimer island, all the shops characters and upgrades, the events and so so sooo much more. I loved playing this when it came out and for the most part I really enjoyed the welcome amiibo update so it’s my favorite and an easy s with Wild world in a for being and hour taker and nostalgic. City folk it also a because it’s basically wild world I just wish they would do more with it. A for new horizons. I love new horizons and placing furniture outside and the terraforming and the fact that some of your favorite villagers will ask to move instead of in previous games were you revive a heartbreaking letter from them. But the lack of characters, shops and over all features brings it down also crafting is VERY tedious so A tier. Happy home designer was fun and decent but not a game I would come back too so b tier pocket camp also is b tier cuz it’s not the best nor something I’d typically play but I had my fun with it. AC Plaza was cool I loved Mii verse and I miss it and I liked seeing what other people had to say and I like all the little special characters and villagers that showed up so C tier. I have never played the original(or e+) but I know a bunch about it so b tier. Finally amiibo festival and easy F.
