Gear 5 in a nutshell: TOON POWER GO BRRR In a simplified seriousness, gear 5 gives the ability to be mad streachy and resistent like a cartoon, also to make everything he want into rubber (including sorrounding and other people) allowing him to bounce anywhere and streach anything

If you wanna see gear 5th, the best episode i would recommend is 1074. It show cases a good chunk if what he can do in the form but not fully revealing its full potential. All the other episodes are dont rlly show much just luffy running in the air and punching kaido hella times but 1074 is a very good example.

I personally prefer goku's ui and ssj because ssj was like way before when transformations were angry based. Ui in the manga is unique and a technique (if we consider it a transformation then debate). Its just goku not being angry some what the opposite. Gear 5 is luffy being able to be more goofy and ill say it got better anim and is also unique.

Transformation was fire, not every character has to turn super edgy when they transform, plus allows luffy to use far more attacks now that the world becomes rubber. OG super saiyan goku is fire and iconic but all his the other transformations are his hair colour changing and him getting more powerful if you really break it down. Can't hate on OG super saiyan tho since that shit basically started it all
