Katakuri is cool yes, I'm a fan j like anybody else, but characters like Grimjoww and Ulquiorra have more of a presence and more importance to the narrative than him. I'd argue Crocodile is a better antagonist than Katakuri. Plus Obito doesn't even compare to Aizen in terms of character imo; he had the potential to be great but was fumbled hard. I can't remember a single relevant person he managed to defeat. Id also put Aizen above Madara, but thinking otherwise isn't the worst take. For Villains Naruto: Kishimoto writes villains like none Zabuza Orochimaru Itachi Obito The whole Akutsuki Danzo etc Madara's execution was rushed and felt underwhelming but still the hype the philosophy the whole persona of him destroying everything was so great he still stands in one of the best villains in anime Bleach: Aizen that's all nothing about him is bad he's just a perfect villain Ulquiorra his nihilistic philosophy really is amazing Grimmjow that guy is just him The whole Espada etc I didn't like the quincy's and Ywach tbh One piece: Aside from Doflamingo I really didn't like any of the villains in one piece they really are felt like Goofy and jokers

For me personally Akainu should be on here for sure. Thanks to the extensive world Oda has created we understand how a man like him could exist and given the dangers the pirates pose to civilians we can also understand why they would see him as a hero. But for the story as a whole besides Blackbeard he is probably the only antagonistic force in the series that can hold a candle to Luffy when it comes to willpower and conviction.

For me as I'm a big fan of philosophie Itachi poses a big question. Can u be a good man if u murdered so many people? Does ur reasoning outwheigh ur crimes and if so who decides that? One thing is certain for me and that is that he isn't a good brother for Sasuke. Yes he loved him and had good reasons for his actions but i just don't believe that u can under any circumstances be considered a good brother if u slaughtered the whole family and leave him to fend for himself most of his life. In a way u can say Itachi is the greatest shinobi ever cause he without hesitation sacrificed everything for the good of the village but that is just it. When it came down to it he chose the village over Sasuke and even though that doesn't make him a bad person in my eyes it makes him most certainly a bad brother.
