Not a modalist or a trinitarian. God both became a man like us and is God for all eternity. (That's kinda the foundational teaching of all of Christianity.) And did he ever contradict? Maybe, nobody's perfect. He was an illiterate farmboy, not a theologian. That's why it's so impressive that he managed to produce such a perfect and profound theological framework at the times he acted as a conduit for God's revelations, it's what makes him a prophet.

I was supposed to go to Utah for a specialized training for my job then my training was changed to California but then, there was an issue where they had to change it back to Utah, then I learned that Utah was huge in Mormonism, I got very excited and started pushing even harder to learn the LDS movement. I was studying on my flight and was praying “please Lord, let there be a seasoned brother so we can hit the streets and have conversations with many Mormons. Well, the Lord honored it 150%. my car driver also my partner on the training, seasoned in Mormonism was a believer and wanted to evangelized also We spent ten days, every single day and night witnessing to Mormons. We took the tours and the free passes to museums, we asked and challenged every tour guide and was very rewarding. We got kicked out twice and were threatened that on the third we were going to be arrested, our picture was placed somewhere for missionaries to ignored us. We ended up connecting with a group of 10 singing and worshiping in front of the main temple entrance. Anyway, pray and be bold, be respectful and kind and please chose which mountain is worth dying on, they are very cultish and have a lot of hidden stuff. Also, many of the contemporary missionaries are not too familiar with the real dark pass of the cult so be ready with evidence to present.

In fact, had the bible been changed at the rate the D&C was changed, it would have been unrecognizable. Entire sentences and paragraphs were added or removed from the D&C. @@rhamsesmartinez5007 I don't see why prophets aren't allowed to curate their own revelations. Plus, you can always just go look at the earlier versions if it bothers you, nothing is being suppressed. Also the Bible has been changed that much. Not only are there textual variants galore, but there's centuries of dead space between the authors and the earliest manuscripts. Untold amounts of corruption could have happened in that space. Especially because manuscripts become more standardized and harmonized as time goes on. The earlier the manuscript the greater the variation.

@KnuttyEntertainment With all the changes made to the Bible and the "untold amount of corruption" that could have taken place during the "centuries of dead space," its surprising that a church with at least 15 prophets, seers, and revelators, at any given time, still uses the KJV and encourages its members to study it as the word of God. So, is the Bible reliable or not? Not even the JST or "Inspired Version" is referred to as the word of God. As for the D&C, one thing is to update a revelation; to give new instruction that supersedes the former, but what JS and other leaders have done is revised the "revelations," changing their meaning, and presented them as the originals, as if nothing had been modified- as if God had spoken only once on the matter. This is deceitful. However, it is evident that changes had to be made because conflicting doctrines were being taught and/or practiced. Furthermore, you stated that nothing is being suppressed, yet LeGrand Richards, Joseph Fielding Smith, John A. Widtsoe, Hugh B. Brown, and others, all stated that nothing from the D&C had been changed. But you and I know that's not true. In fact, in 2013, Steven E. Snow, former church historian and member of the Quorum of the Seventy stated, "I think in the past there was a tendency to keep a lot of the records closed or at least not give access to information. But... with the access to information on the internet, we can't continue that pattern." A simpler argument against Mormonism is Isaiah 43:10-11. God says plainly there was no God before me neither will there be after me. So he did not evolve from a man to his Godhood. Neither will Mormons ascend to Godhood by multiple marriages nor good works while here. Neither was there a mother God who gave birth to other gods. Mormons are good people. Couple that with the claim that God and Jesus appeared to Joseph Smith when the Bible says no man has seen the Father it is clear he is a false prophet. I hope and pray they seek God with their whole heart and find Jesus waiting for them with his arms open.

The problem with quoting Isaiah is that Isaiah isn't a monotheist, he believed in other gods. He's using a common figure of speech from those times. The same figure of speech is used to say there are no other cities other Babylon or Nineveh, or that there are no other swords than this sword. He's basically saying "my God can beat up your god." Here's a video by evangelical scholar Michael Heiser on the topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ6ydpyBpK2Mmrc

And, Latter-day Saints don't believe that YHWH started out as a man. He started out as God, and then became a man... named JESUS. We also don't believe that Heavenly Mother gave birth to other gods, nor that we achieve godhood through polygamy or through our works in this life. There are also several instances of man seeing God in the Bible. Joseph Smith essentially saw the same thing Stephen saw in Acts when he saw the Son standing at the right hand of the Father. Also, the idea of becoming like god is called theosis, and it’s been taught in Christianity for 2,000 years. The idea is still taught in Catholic and Orthodox churches, and that’s because the idea is biblical: First, we are outright called gods, the very children of God (Psalm 82:6/John 10:34) and children can grow up to become like their parents (Romans 8:16-17). And just as Jesus was glorified to rule like his Father, so shall we rule as they do (Revelation 3:21), for we shall also be like them in that way (1 John 3:2). Indeed we are commanded to become perfect like God the Father is perfect, and God would not give us a commandment that would be impossible for us to keep (Matthew 5:48). And in so doing we may become one with Jesus and the Father the same way they are one with each other (John 17:20-23).

@@johnrockwell5834 Those verses in Deuteronomy do not say that every statement from a prophet must come true. It's not even really a test for prophets. An example of this is when Moses strikes the rock and makes water come out when God didn't tell him to do that. There are also occasions in the Bible, such as Jonah's prophecy of Nineveh's destruction, where God does command Jonah to say that, but it still doesn't happen because God changes his mind. There are examples all over the Bible of prophets sinning and not doing what God told them, that doesn't make them false prophets, it just makes them human. As for Joseph Smith, his track record is pretty impeccable, over 400 fulfilled prophecies so far, and of the few that critics like to hold up as failed, I have yet to see one that actually holds up to muster.

The entire chapter of Romans 3 contradict 2 Nephi 25:23. And this is the sole reason why it is a false religion. It’s all you need to refute your false religion that I used to be a part of. Because if you can only be saved by grace after all you can do, you do not have grace do ya? If that is true our Lord died in vain. Because he died so we do not have to be perfect. That is why he fulfilled the law. So we don’t have to because it is impossible. There’s two ways to heaven, stay true to the law, which is impossible. Or put your faith in the man that is Christ Jesus. And that doesn’t mean saying you love Jesus and partying. It means giving your life to him. Trusting him and not leaning on your own understanding. Which is a very difficult thing to do in and of itself. I will tell you this my friend, you don’t need a church to save you and you don’t need a prophet to speak for you because it has been finished. Jesus was perfect so you don’t have to be. You just need to put your faith in him and to love him. It is about relationship. That’s all he asks of you.

@@jordanott5464 When you have believed on Christ alone for salvation then you have repented unto life. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation. Jonah 3:10 calls turning from sins, " works."

You really do not understand, there is a huge difference between the true and living God revealed in the Book of Mormon and the false god of the Trinity. The god of the Trinity is invisible, not just unseen but un-see-able. In the very first chapter of Lehi has a vision and he sees God the Father sitting on his throne, he is a see-able and he is a man. Then Lehi sees Jesus descending to the earth as a separate being from the Father. In Mosiah 15 which you half way quoted it says the will of the Son is swallowed up in the will of the Father. Two separate wills just like in the New Testament, two beings not one. "One" can mean 1 or it can mean one unit. The Book of Mormon uses the one unit formula.

This guy is a victim to his own arguments against Joseph Smith. The Bible contains many contradictions that must be justified. Doctrine is continually read into Scripture as it is constantly reinterpreted. Most of all, however, Christianity is ever evolving. I doubt this guy wakes up before Dawn and sings him to Jesus. I doubt he prays or baptizes for the dead. I doubt he venerates saints. I doubt he believes in purgatory. The list goes on. He holds his beliefs because throughout the roughly 1900 years of Christianity people have reinterpreted and reimagined what Christianity looks like. The biggest offender being Luther who I can almost guarantee is the foundation for his doctrine. Maybe stop condemning other people for searching for the truth & let God be the judge of people. You will be judged by the measure you hold other people to. Better hope your doctrine is 100% right.

Joseph Smith wasn't a modalist, if you think so you need to read more because you're mistaken. Joseph Smith wasn't a Trinitarian. One is the Book of Mormon means united in will and attributes, not substance. Joseph Smith taught that Christ could only do what He saw The Father do (John 5:19), making The Father an eternal perfect God. Joseph Smith didn't contradict anything in the Bible. I've read the Book of Mormon 20 + times and entire Bible 4 times and the New Testament 10 times.

You argue in bad faith. No mormon would state that Joseph did more for us than Jesus. If the Spirit that spoke to this man was anti-Christ, why is the divinity, grace, and perfection of Christ taught so thoroughly and truthfully in the Book of Mormon? You contradict yourself and make straw man arguments.

@@ChristOverAllJeremy Just to pick on the one point here, you stated that the lds church says JS did more for us than Jesus, which is a flat-out lie. Hang on, I'll address another one - Jesus is the father and the son like this - He is the son of God. He is also the creator of the heavens and the earth - the father of them. Are you a father ? Do you also HAVE a father? That's how Jesus is both a father and a son. And as for God being eternal, well, he is, but yes he does change - didn't Jesus get born and become mortal ? And then die and get resurrected ? Seems like a change to me. And yet he has always existed, the same person. But not in the same form. You're misrepresenting doctrine, and worse, preying on latter-day saints who aren't scholars. Not everyone is able to delve into all the deepness of doctrine, and I'm sure that's true of many of your people too.

The Bible frequently contradicts itself. Stop acting like Christian doctrine is perfect. John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time..." Not all scripture has to agree with each other.

In Matthew 7, Jesus said "only those who do the will of my father will be saved.", which means we have to do works to be saved. So Christianity is a works-based religion. Romans 8: 29 says Jesus is the first-born of creation among brothers. Satan was created by God too, making him Jesus' brother as well, just like Satan is Sam's brother. Revelation 3: 14 also mentions Jesus' creation, suggesting he is a created being. See! the Bible proves Christians are wrong about Jesus being eternal. The Old Testament says numerous times that there is only 1 God, but in the polytheist New Testament, there are 3 people who are God. This is an utter, blatant contradiction, which makes Christianity and the Trinity invalid. I can take scripture out of context on and on and on until I am blue in the face, like Sam. It doesn't make me right. He is such a hard-hearted fool.

Not at all effective, except in starting arguments about opinions. I believe that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are separate beings. One in purpose and glory, with the Son also being called the Father for His role in creating this planet. Acts 7:55-56 is clear in confirming this separateness.
