I’m debating on whether this or the abu Garcia black max. But I think I’m going to go with the lews it’s on sale at dicks for 99$ I used a bait caster a few years ago but I think I had a cheap one I could never get it to work. I’m gonna give this one a shot. Any recommended line? I like to use power pro braid would that be ok?

i’d go with the lews! and as a matter of fact i use power pro 30lb braid for all my baitcasters and never have problems, i don’t even use mono backing which is what’s recommended and i’ve never had any issues

Just picked one up today at the local tackle shop for $159 but I think it’s the gen 2 cuz the grips ad reel look different. I chose the 7 foot model over the 7’2 model cuz it was 20$ cheaper and didn’t really need a 7’2. Great review.

you know man i really don’t know enough about saltwater fishing to give you a definitive answer, but my guess would be if you make sure to clean it right (it’s made of both plastic and metal parts) then you would be fine!

Get some purple stren monofilament it is as strong as 20 pound braid and casts awesome get 14LB

i already had one but i wanted to look at a review. It works really well for me. It is very light and so smooth. Definitely recommend. Threw on some 10lb line and started catching fish like that.

Jared Ross casting action is great! I can get far and accurate casts with most lures, but of course just like most baitcasters it does best with heavies lures

I’ve had one for a few weeks now and it has became my go to reel. Longs casts with awesome backlash resistance. And hey, as of right now Bass Pro Shops is selling the reel for reg 69.97 and Black Friday %20 off makes it $55! So probably the best deal going. Just ordered another. Cheers!

I’m saving up for one of these! Rly excited. The same thing with the eyelet casing thing happened with my lews xfinity spinning rod on the first eyelet. Didn’t really make much of a difference in performance but was just annoying.

Maybe you already know and fixed it. Or maybe you don’t have the rod any more😂. But the top eye that popped out, can be easily fixed by changing all the little metal part for just a couple of bucks in your local fishing store😉

I love mine! little tricky to get dialed in, but once you do.. even with braid, it's the longest casting baiscaster ive ever used.

Blake Fischer I think I’ve had mine for 2 years?? Something like that lol my only real complaint is the brakes on the left side, you have no real reference as to which way is off and on lol. That’s caused me some nasty backlash in the past BUT I just re spooled her w some 20lb braid and taking her out tomorrow! Fingers crossed I land a toad lol

Just picked mine up on sale for $159 at my local DICK’S paid a total of around $175 can’t wait to try it hopefully I catch some Hogs on this. Also I might also get the Mach Smash since it’s a bit cheaper to try it out.
