I just bought the same shoes and I've been learning how to walk with then though I've walk barefoot a lot in my life

Yea when I first got these type of shoes I realized when walking in shoes I am very heavy on my heels. I think when you’re actually barefoot you are more aware of how you step, but in shoes we don’t think about it. I looove all the room for my toes.

Hello, can you tell me how thick the sole of Within shoes are? I am looking for a affordable pair of minimalist shoes that don't have paper thin like soles... I will wear them 8 hours on concrete floor per day...
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
The inner soles are only millimeters thick. But if you wanted, you could always purchase a more padded inner sole and put it in. It would probably make the shoe a bit too snug though since that’s not how they’re designed to fit.

Very good point.

That front seam has been the BANE of Whiten shoes for a while. It's awful and rubs you raw. They'd be great if they re-stitched their shoes. I returned mine.

How warm do your feet get indoors? I have very hot feet and I'm desperate for something zero and breathable
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
I feel like my feet are less hot in these than other shoes I own. The thickness or sock or no sock at all would also effect this. The thinner sole allows more ground temperature to come through so if you have cold tile floors, these would probably feel cooler to you than a thicker sole.

Do you find the TSLA's toe box wide enough?
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
I will say I think it is slightly narrower than some of the others. It is wide enough for me, but it will obviously depend on the individual width of your foot.

@@ThomasTries Cool, one other question: have you tried running/hiking in the Whitin barefoot shoes (the casual looking ones)? Even though they look like casual shoes, they seem to be flexible and shaped well, which is ideal for running. Just wondering, as someone who usually only owns one or two pairs of shoes
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
The black Whitin shoes I wear regularly, but not specifically for going for a run for exercise. I usually cycle and have cycling shoes. That said, I do run with my dog or kids for short periods of time while laying or taking hikes or walks. They hold up well and are still comfortable. My biggest concern at that point is actually getting the shoes dirty lol.

bought my first pair of TSLAs around 3yrs ago and they are still holding up to everyday use. Toe box is wider than normal and allows my toes to splay out naturally. They were my first barefoot shoe, and as this video mentions you REALLY feel the ground. Just keep in mind that if TSLAs are your first barefoot shoe then wear them once every other day or even 2 times a week and build up to wearing them everyday.
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
@user-245er4ud absolutely. I am hardest on my TSLA’s and yet I think they are holding up better than any of my others.

Good review and comparison. How have they held up over time?
@ThomasTries7 ай бұрын
Honestly, I’ve been impressed with how they’ve held up. I primarily use the TSLA shoes for outdoor running. The rest are usually daily wear, so not under extreme conditions. The only pair that have started to separate around the inside of the heel is the gray Joomra’s, but those were my first and I wore them most often until I bought a few others and didn’t wear them every day. I think the separation started from me not being particularly careful while taking them off and stepping on the heel to slip my foot out. But overall, I have not been disappointed. Obviously all shoes wear out eventually.

i am a half size do you recommend sizing up or down?
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
It will depend on your specific foot size, foot shape, and shoe brand, but I did size down once and was not happy with the fit. It was too snug. Your results may vary.

Do you wear these to a job?
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
I do, but it’s something that passes as acceptable where I’m at. Obviously these wouldn’t be appropriate in all lines of work.

Any waterproof?
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
None of the ones I have would be considered waterproof, but the TSLA ones dry pretty quickly due to their thin materials.
@keldonator Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasTries It has been very difficult finding thin lightweight zero drop or barefoot shoes that are waterproof...
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
When you say waterproof, what is your intended use? Walking or running in wet environments and you want your foot to remain dry while doing so?
@keldonator Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasTries Walking in puddles or muddy areas with my feet remaining dry. I bought some Bearfoot Bruins, gonna try them. Hope they aren't too heavy. Waiting for their arrival.
@ThomasTries Жыл бұрын
Those Bearfoot Bruins look nice. I was going to say something more like a boot would be better for what you’re describing if you want your foot to remain dry. Any of the low ankle shoes will struggle to keep water out in that type of use.
