Fully appreciate your opinions I find it gives me confidence knowing other painters have similar views to my own, you don't talk too much at all, people who think that are just bad listeners that don't learn much

Thanks Ollie what you do here is of great value to me, not everyone is a top notch sprayer and just watching this before going ahead with a job gives me the extra confidence to get stuck in, when your still learning, but love it, you need that sometimes, thanks again.

Thanks a million for your content! Sprayed Envirobase for 9 years and i cant believe how much better/faster the 9k is. A month in and Id never go back. Orientation and blends would have been a struggle without your videos!

I enjoy the talking, I hear the booth run all day and a gun spraying, the talking feels more engaging. Also the gauge on the gun, measures the air in the body or for at the cap can’t remember which, same concept as sata’s. The gauge at the bottom is reading inlet air, (at the gun)next time try(if you hadn’t already) open the gun gauge to wide open, then adjust the air with a cheater gauge till you get the reading you want on the gun gauge & see if it makes a difference.

I have the DV1 For 3 years or so Best gun I ever owned Doing painting over 30 years Have soo many different types of paint guns P.S next time use a little darker sealer for blue color So much easier to cover

I have both base and clear dv1’s I spray the clear with a 1.3 with the c-2 cap at 18 psi. Great gun but not fast. Atomizes great very efficient

Would a base gun with a C2 cap spray the same? Can I just buy one gun and change caps?

@ Not sure never tried it. And yes you can buy just the cap. Give it a shot

On the DV1 Clear with a 1.3 C2 air cap using Sunfire Pro, with the Digital Gauge, I ran it at Full Fan, Full Fluid at 17 to 18 psi for a very flat finish with 4:1 clears from SW. BTW im so in love with Sunfire Pro... I talked a lot about it, and got it several months ago, and it sprays no nice. Clear is a watery and drys very fast(even with extra slow activator), Been spraying 5020(which i LOVE way more than anything i've used yet from any brand), But looking into cc250 or cc950 even 1100755 which 950 and 1100755 is a bake clear which i can do now....I should have a gallon of cc250 this week to shoot my 1st job with. Keep up the great content sir. Thanks again for the Sunfire Pro info.

I still have my first devillbiss guns as well, a two gun starting line set with a primer gun 1.7 and a E-09 with a 1.3 that I used for single stage or base and a GTI pro for clear and they all still work fine. Devillbiss Manufactures quality products and time to upgrade, so 2 years ago I invested $1,008 Canadian in a Digital DV1 limited Edition black base gun kit, comes with the B2 plus cap and includes a D kups adapter and 3 nozzles 1.2,1 3, 1.4, I'm retired now and don't need to work, so I pick a couple of very cool restoration projects a year that I can enjoy ,have fun, and chill. But I comple agree with everything you described. It's the best all-around gun you will find bar non. The only thing I could add would be don't waste your money buying both guns. The base coat and clear coat versions are identical. The only difference between them are the caps. Buy the base gun it's a couple hundred cheaper, and order the C2 PLUS clear coat cap, I actually ordered both clear caps and paid $196. Each Canadian for mine and the C2 plus is fast and lays clear like glass buddy. Don't buy the C1 cap for clear it sprays light and slow, just like the B2 cap. Side by side comparison of the C1 and B2 they look and measure identical.

It would nice to see a review on the USA made C.A. Technologies spray guns like the Cat-X , Jaguar 300H HVLP or the Techline T3.

I've had one off these guns for few years and it my go too gun even tho i've many guns Satas, sagolas etc .The DV1 clearcoat gun is great for flat finishes plus i like slower guns will my painting style . Great video .

Hi Joel, another superb video mate I really don't know why you don't have more subs as what you do is so interesting and you explain everything in great detail and I want to add that you never talk to much as everything is a bonus to the actual spraying👍 I have a lot of clear guns but guess what I only have one dedicated base gun and yep it's the DV1 1.2 Digital with the B+ aircap as it lays my solvent scheme paint beautifully plus as you say I hardly ever need a control coat. I have the DV1 clear gun but as I always shoot for a flat finish I use the 1.2 with the C1 aircap which gives an amazing finish but it is a bit slow, the Gunman uses the 1.3 with the C2 cap which he says makes it a better gun and speeds it up, I love what the Gunman does and he even did a dedicated video just for me on laying sealer (WoW primer) when I was struggling with it😎I don't have any problems laying it now😁 I'm hoping to get the PRD-717 one of these days as the split tip version looks really good, thanks Joel and keep them vids coming👏🙏👍John UK

Olie, thanks for sharing your knowledge. This is the only spray gun that I don't have. I heard its a great gun but so surprised that you chose it over Iwata Supernova which is known for that super soft even base coat application. By the way just heard you mention Sunfire Pro.. Funny you said this. Sherwin Williams guys stopping at our shop. I don't want to switch to water so still staying with solvent. Between Matrix Edge and Sunfire Pro which one has a better color match if you can comment. I would appreciate that..

They are actually close to the same product. Both are valspar lines. If I remember right they’re the same relabeled. I would ask the rep. Sunfire pro matches great but the issue was coverage with whites and the reds needed work. But it’s been about 3 years since I had the system

I did buy a Porphis 717 gun after your video and it really is a nice gun and sprays well for a very affordable gun . And they gave me 10% off from mentioning your name ! Lol. I have all three DV1 guns and I use to say the same thing about the DV1-B being the best base coat gun out there especially for pearls and metallics. Until I bought the ANI 200 Skull Edition that comes with digital manometer, WP, HVLP, & Clear air caps. It is even better, with a wider fan while being faster

What's it like changing air caps to to 1.3 on the dv1 any better? I've got both dv1 base and clear and the ani f160. Ani are good guns for the price

There a cracking gun for base coat paint and clear coat paint would you say its good as a sagola or iwata series 2 digital WS400 1.3 OBS BLUE CAP 1.3 good job by the wY ollie is that devibliss dv1 b plus 1.3

I have 2 dv1 basecoat guns and the clearcoat gun and after using sata for years there is no going back. Thanks for the great videos I hope it helps guys get in to the business

Are there different DV1? I've seen them new for around 250 to 300. Just wondering if there's different models of the DV1 that give them a range from 250 to the 700 he's talking about. Thank you

There’s authentic and knockoffs. The Chinese knockoff guns aren’t nearly as well built. Nor do they have the same air caps or nozzles. It’s simply a replica spray gun handle. I would personally avoid those. There’s a lot nicer guns for $250 that aren’t knockoffs.

@olie_olie_paintz that's what I was thinking. Even the digital Guage looked different. So all authentic DV1 are the same? I'm just spraying for fun, not a job. How can I make sure the one I get is for base and not primer or clear?
